The young lady could have told us we could eat in the bar without a reservation…..we might just have gone out and you would have missed our dinner expenses. Also up in the bathroom not much privacy with the patios just outside the window……..had to put the blinds down.

We love your bar are the two gentlemen on duty that night we’re just spectacular. We had been told no dinner table until 7.45 but did not advise us we could eat in the bar…….Tony took care of everything. Alex was also very prompt with requests and polite in our dealings. Great evening meal.

Everything absolutely outstanding all staff in every department were amazing especially the lady on check in room was beautiful and very clean tea coffee was provided the evening meal was excellent and reasonable price and the breakfast had lots of choice the castle itself was absolutely gorgeous and immaculate grounds would definitely recommend this place

Generally all aspects were very good,however ,the rotation of staff in the restaurant created a little unease as some of the staff were rather abrupt in manner

The location and the whole outlook.The Castle/Hotel had a wonderful,atmospheric old world charm .The drive up the main approach was like being taken back in time .The room was clean ,comfortable and tastefully designed.

Only a few small things. It would have been nice to have a coffee table in front of the sofa. We had to put our coffee cups on the floor which wasn't ideal as were were scared of spilling them. We would have liked a small fridge for cold drinks. And during the night we felt slightly hot and tried to open the windows for a through breeze only to find that all the windows except for one were locked.

We stayed in the King Suite and it was superb. We loved having a dressing room and the shower with its multiple jets was fabulous. The jury is still out on the whirlpool bath. The water bubbling under my bottom was a very strange sensation - usually only experienced after eating baked beans! The bed was extremely comfortable and the wine goblets were a nice touch.

The gaudy goblets in the room were engrained with dirt. I assume they were there because of the castle connection, but they're really not necessary. The pull out rack on the wardrobe unit was very dusty. And while the bathroom is beautiful, in the shower there was nowhere to put toiletries other than on the floor. Also the toilet roll was in a very awkward place on the side of a wall behind the loo.

Excellent parking. Beautiful building. Small but lovely well stocked room. Excellent bar, bistro and restaurant. All the staff throughout the hotel are friendly, helpful and professional. They are a real credit to the place.

Windows a but tricky to open, so the room was a bit warm.

My partner has complex dietary needs. They listedned and gave us eaxcgtly what we asked for: this is unusual in hotel food. The food is expensive but worth it. They are former farmers who care about locally sourcing good quality food. They don't let you forget it, but it isn't just marketing hype. Bar served a good real ale. There is ample parking, which for Whitby is a great rarity. We left the car for the day and travelled in by taxi: about £7 from the hotel to the centre of town.

It was perfect.

We had a wonderful stay at Sneaton Castle. Very impressive to arrive at with well kept grounds, gardens and farm animals. All the staff were friendly, very efficient and caring. The decor has a nod to it being a priory and also a farming influence with the family coming from a farming background. Our room and bathroom were very spacious with four windows giving views of the garden, the animals and the countryside. It was all kept to a very high standard and was very comfortable. Our breakfast was one of the best I have had. Thank you to the family and all the team. Hope to visit again.
