Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainNothing at all, everything was quite good.
The room was very spacious, we were 6 people in one place so it was confy for all of us. The common places are equally good and cleany, there were plenty of space to work, play or eat.

ArgentinaThere were only two sinks in the bathroom. The shower didn't have somewhere to place things other than a very small shelf (for shampoo) and a hook.
I liked the location. The bed was very good as well, it had a reading light, phone holder and outlet.

United KingdomI didn’t like how the rooms got really warm and packed. However, that is expected for the price you’re paying as a backpacker
I liked that it was very close to the tube station and it was easy to get around. There is a Tesco nearby and there’s a lovely park opposite.

SerbiaCommon area is small and most its also dining area (tables with wooden benches). There are no variations in buffet breakfast. Some details are not well thought-out: too few surfaces to sit on or put your small stuff in bed (except holder for phone). When you climb on 2nd or 3rd level in bed there's no way to switch room lights off anymore from there. Sometimes water in showers is warm, sometimes not. I think bed linen is given out for your entire stay, but maybe you can ask to change it every few days. I don't feel much hospitality from this hostel overall, but maybe it's just my impression.
Location is top-tier. You can reach most of London's sights by walking or with a short ride by bus. British museum is a few minutes walk. Many food points nearby. Supermarkets: Tesco express and Sunsbury. Buffet breakfast is simple but quite good (£6.50). They offer 10% discount for future bookings. They offer laundry service: £4 per wash or dry or £7.50 (afair) for both. They offer a website for auto check-in, but I didn't figure out how to use the QR for it (in email QR was damaged). During the check-in the website will ask for your bank card info (in case of additional charges). They have vending machines with drinks and snacks.

GermanyThere are extra bathrooms down to the basement. The bathroom in the room is extremely small and the water is either very cold or very hot. There is a little legend that when you leave you must take down your bedding except for the comforter cover, which makes me suspicious if they change it from person to person.
You have a locker to store your suitcases (you need a padlock) the bathroom (although small) is in the room. Relatively central, the subway station is a 5 minute walk away. Internet war good.

Netherlandscheck-in was quick, but they didn't fully explain everything. room was poky. For taller people, will be difficult. Bathrooms are not the greatest. As a solo traveller I definitely wouldn't come here to party or meet people. Most of the guests were kids on group tours of London with their school.
location is really good. It is so close to a tube station, and a small shopping district so you can stock up on supplies. Breakfast is a bit strange, you're technically not allowed to go in the kitchen from 7am-10am because this is when the paid breakfast is...you can kind of go in anyway, but it's a bit awkward.

GermanyThe bunk beds in the dormitories are a bit uncomfortable, especially the middle bed. It's a tight squeeze and quite noisy when you move around. You have to bring your own padlock for the lockers and they're not very clean.
Nice common room, clean and just what you'd expect for the price. Top location, close to St. Pancras and in walking distance to many underground stations. Good for a few nights.

IrelandSome staff were nice, but others were extremely unhelpful, to the point being useless. Generally, I would say the hostel is clean, but on my last morning I woke up with some bug bites. At first, I thought they were from mosquitos as it was very warm in London during my stay. However, later that day I realised they weren't mosquito bites. I don't think it was from bed bugs, it doesn't look like it, but they were definitely from some sort of insect. My GP thinks they were from spiders. I also didn't like that guests had to make their own beds
Location was very good
