Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere could have been more healthy options on both the breakfast and dinner menus
The staff were very friendly, but polite. The room was comfortable, clean and well maintained. The location was convenient. The price reflected good value.

United KingdomGreat location for restaurants and bars. It’s a gem of a hotel with gorgeous decor and staff to match! Given an upgrade to a fabulous room. Andrew and staff were so friendly and helpful…glass of prosecco and a beautiful dessert plate as an added extra in our room! Breakfast next morning was delicious. Highly recommended!

United KingdomThe mattress was a little disappointing but fine nevertheless. No towel rail in the bathroom and unfortunately no coat hooks at all in the room to hang anything up. We arrived in very wet weather and there was nowhere at all to hang a coat. The wardrobe was 3/4 height so also unable to accommodate the length of a dress so a mildly irritating problem and the room itself was lovely.
Really loved the location, right in the heart of town, a quick walk in either direction for the Docks , Station, Theatre and shops, a super little hotel. Rooms were lovely, modern and well equipped (a smart tv, very well equipped tea making tray and even an iron and board in the room) Plenty of pillows and everything was exceptionally clean. The staff were all fantastic, friendly and attentive.

United KingdomAlthough our room was small which was fine ours was very warm with it being summer, there was no A/C so had to open our window and as its quite a busy street there was a lot of noise from passers by later on which couldn't be helped but A/C would really help, we were in the bar from around 22:45pm but by 11:30pm you could only buy lager or wine as everything else including soft drinks were shut down and no cocktails were getting made even though it states on a card in our room that the bar would cater for guests with no particular closing time, there were other people still in the bar also so still had guests drinking, we've never known a hotel to shut down nearly everything at the bar by 11:30, apart from that our stay was good.
Great hotel, rooms although small were clean and comfortable, bar lovely and cocktails were amazing, staff friendly, food was good.

United KingdomFound the room a little small. Rain shower head needed a clean as holes blocked. (I cleaned and worked fine) A little noisy at night but that’s to be expected with central location. Room could have had a fridge.
The communication was good with hotel. I had lots of questions about if my friend could check in without me (he could) if parking was available (it was near by and got a voucher) and what if any driving restrictions/ low emissions zone etc there were in Liverpool, (none) so reservations team were excellent. Check in was smooth and I found the room clean and cozy. Bathroom clean and walk in shower with overhead rain shower hot! Towels clean and fresh every day. Coffee & tea making facilities good with biscuits. The weather was hot so asked for fan and delivery straight away. The best thing about the hotel were the staff, who were always friendly and helpful….. and funny! Breakfast/ bar lady’s are amazing. Location, location, location……. Perfect!

United KingdomNoisy and hot. You can forgive the noise as it is prime city centre location so expect that. No air con. But again its such a lovely old historic building it would be a shame to ruin it with air-conditioning.

United KingdomThe rooms were really nice but absolutely boiling. The windows didn't open wide enough and there was no fans/air con.
Location was great! There was a large group of us booking for a hen do and they accommodated us perfectly. We also couldn't go out for a meal as planned but the staff were amazing and blocked off part of the bar for us, and let us have dinner and drinks there (as a group of 22 with no prior booking!)
