A warm welcome and very friendly staff. Lovely and cozy pub with great accommodation. Food was excellent, both dinner and breakfast. Ample parking available, little beer garden out the back also to enjoy nice drink in the sun when we arrived. Would stay again.

What a wonderful place. We stayed here for an evening while at a concert at Harewood House (4 miles away) and can't praise Richard and Kate enough. The food was great, the rooms amazing and the hosts exceptional. I'm fortunate to stay in some lovely hotels with work but I'd happily put the Shoulder up there with the best of them. Thank you Kate & Richard.

This is a suite not just an ensuite bedroom. Spacious, clean, comfortable & quiet ground floor accommodation. Super king size bed, with a good en-suite shower. (no bath). separate room with tv, sofa, chair, dining table, kitchenette with fridge, microwave & sink. Clean towels & bed linen. Recently renovated outbuilding. Pub open all day for breakfast, lunch, dinner. (very handy). Quintessential Yorkshire pub & village. Friendly staff. Do pop into boutique shop in court yard & the church is worth a visit. Location great for Harrogate & Whetherby. Do visit Mother Shipton’s Cave. Harlow Carr also worth visiting

The property was super clean and spacious and had extras such as tea and coffee and fresh milk. We stayed over for a wedding and my friend had forgotten her conditioner and a lovely lady serving us breakfast lent us her own. Breakfast was also delicious, we had full English both mornings.

The rooms were well appointed, and comfortable. Excellent as a base to explore Yorkshire. The food was good; breakfast was superb, and the Shoulder of Lamb was outstanding. The beer was beautifully kept.

Location was great, within reach of local town by car or bus, bus stop opposite Inn. Good choice of food in evening and for breakfast. Quiet location. Free large car park. Lovely rural setting. Very friendly staff.

Location was good for us visiting Harewood House, Harrogate, York, etc. Evening food was excellent and enough choice for a 5 night stay. Accommodation was excellent.

We stayed here for 1 night and we would definitely 100% go back. The rooms were stunning and absolutely spotless. Everything you could possibly need was there from fresh milk to crisps and biscuits. The breakfast was a 10/10 and the service from the staff was impeccable. We will definitely be returning in the future, unbelievable stay all round 😁

A comfortable and cosy place to stay. My room was in a seperate annexe type building to the pub which I liked as it felt like it was more private and quiet. The room was spotlessly clean and the underfloor heating made it feel very cosy. Comfortable bed and some thoughtful extra touches like a lovely little tea/coffee/snack set up and fluffy dressing gowns.

The village in which the premises are located is lovely and within easy travelling distance of Harrogate, York, Knaresborough etc. Our accommodation was very roomy, newly fitted out and well supplied with toiletries, drinks etc. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were good and lunch and dinner menus offered good choices of well prepared food.

I can't speak highly enough of the warm welcome we received at the Shoulder of Mutton. Our waitress at dinner was exceptional and the food was fantastic. Great night's sleep in quiet surroundings. Comfortable bed and a fabulous bathroom. Would most definitely recommend!
