The falling leaves and bits off the trees spoilt it a bit as you were always covered in them when outside which ended up in you taking them back inside the property, the beds were a little creaky and not as comfortable as we would have liked and maybe a few more cooking utensils would have been good

The pool was cold - but this wasn’t really a problem. My children had a quick swim each morning and still enjoyed it.

We loved the location in the forest and how chilled and quiet it was. The cabin was comfy and the kitchen facilities were great. The lady on reception was very friendly and we liked you could book a session in the pool so It wouldn’t be too busy.

The back bedroom windows were very dirty, which obscured the beautiful views. Our hot tub wasn't connected to the lodge veranda - we felt quite exposed and uncomfortable walking to and from it in the open, in swimwear. The dog was also upset having us out of sight. I didn't see any other lodges with disconnected hot tubs, so think we were just a bit unlucky with that.

The lodge was cosy and in a lovely setting. Everything was clean and functional, and it was surprisingly easy to warm up. Plenty of consumables provided (bin bags, tea, loo roll). The hot tub was new and clean. The woodland was beautiful. Our boys enjoyed the indoor pool (although it was too cold for us), and animal corner.

There could of been some cleaning products left, I felt bad not giving it a clean before we left. There is a huge smart tv in the hot tub room which seemed abit pointless as there was no Internet access.

The hot tub was brilliant the kids loved it! Place was clean and well looked after. Was lovely and peaceful. Would definitely stay again!

Bed wasn’t the comfiest, bathroom smelled of urine which wasn’t nice . Would have been helpful to have a hoover or brush in the property especially as I had my dogs with me . Hot tub wasn’t ready when we checked in so had to wait for staff to finish sorting it

Location was great , lovely and peaceful , nice walks with my dogs . Rufford park very close , staff were helpful . Lovely lady on reception when we booked swimming when explaining my son has autism and anxiety she booked a half an hour session for us to have the pool alone

The price is a little high for the time you actually get to be there for. We only stayed one night and couldn't check in until 3pm and checkout was 10am.

Location was lovely, lots of different places to walk. Very close to Sherwood Forest, about a 10 minute drive. Dominios deliver to here which was an added bonus for us. Hot tub was great All in all very clean lodge with an easy to use hot tub.

Cabin was a little tired, the mattress was very uncomfortable, TV reception was poor on some main channels. Lacking in facilities, play parks were dated and needed some attention The ford was closed, would have been good to know this in advance due to having to redirect. Some main road signage would be a good idea

The setting was great, very peaceful, lots of space, quiet. Hot tub was a good addition. Dog friendly. Staff were helpful.

It is a shame cash is not accepted on site, not very good when a child wants to buy a £2 item with his pocket money, this was the only negative.

Fantastic location in the woods with lovely views all around the lodge, it was great to just park up and be able to walk from the lodge and explore.

The lodge itself felt very cramped, cleanliness wasn’t great and generally felt really dated. Looked like they were in the middle of updating the lodges which this one definitely needs, and I feel the cleanliness should be checked off. Didn’t use the log burner as we literally spent all of our time in the outside area, but during the night it was either boiling hot or freezing cold.

The outside area/garden was brill and the main reason I booked as wanted something different, it more than made up for the actual lodge. The location was good as only wanted a couple of days peace and quiet and wasn’t too far from home. Great area to take our dog with us which made a change.

No resteraunt/cafe/ bar. Reception indoor area huge space not much in there it could be really amazing all that space in there. Staff was friendly.

The secret garden lodge was just amazing. We had the best couple of nights. Facilities on the site are lacking but we really enjoyed it all the same. Lodge was great. Will definitely come back

The beds needs more attention to comfort, otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

The place was loverly, the staff was great, we had booked via booking.com but realise they was new to putting the place on there, when we booked we was going for the hot tub, didn't realise till we arrived it didn't come with the cabin we booked, explained and showed the staff what we thought we was paying for, they upgraded us but didn't get the hot tub as it was fully booked. But it was very good of them to understand why we was disappointed when we first arrived, as the first cabin they offered wasn't at all what we wanted, the one they moved us too was a lot better and was happy with our stay after that.
