The downstairs bed was very comfortable but a bit squeaky. There was absolutely nothing else we didn't like.

The cottage, especially the kitchen, was really well equipped. It's the little things that can make your stay easier like tubberware for leftovers, coffee pods for the coffee machine (we also bought some), blankets to snuggle up with and games for all the family. They also left us a few treats which was a wonderful welcome. The information file was exceptional with suggested walks and restaurants etc. We have stayed in a lot of cottages but this one has everything you could possibly need and more. The location is amazing with the beach only 5 minutes walk away. Restaurants, takeaways and shops also in walking distance. Dogs are made very welcome but it didn't smell doggie. The host's communication was great and the cottage was very clean, modern and extremely comfortable. We will definitely stay again and I have already recommended it to family and friends.

We struggled occasionally with the shower valve upstairs occasionally but it wasn’t a huge problem. Maybe a dishwasher would help as we did a lot of self catering? Again, not a big issue, however.

Location was perfect for our needs, beach walks, cafes, etc. We sat in the garden and met some very friendly neighbours. Loved watching thousands of (pink-footed?) geese fly overhead morning and night. Nairn is close to family and so we enjoyed catch-up! Liked the fact that Karen was nearby if anything went wrong, which it didn’t! Enjoyed cocktails on Sundancer balcony and Strathnairn near the beach has delicious fish tacos. Brodie’s is lovely for coffee and a scone.

Dog friendly, very comfortable with quality furniture and fittings. Personal touches and treats for us and our dog. Answered any questions we had. Cottage so handy for beach, river and touring area.

Nothing much. I had backache from bed but could be just being in a different bed. Water pressure in downstairs shower was low with not much power to it, but it didn’t spoil our stay

Location was great. Just few mins walk to beach, harbour and town centre. Property was larger than expected and I loved the decor with a nautical look. Everything was spotless. The host even provided a welcome pack of tea, coffee, biscuits, chocolates and wine. I would like to thank Karen for providing such a fantastic home away from home.

Everything was amazing the cottage from start to finish, we were made very welcome it felt so warming, we had a absolutely brilliant time everything you need was right there, cannot wait till we go back

What a lovely cottage in a great location. The owners have modernised the cottage beautifully. The location is perfect for the beach and the town with parking for one car and a small garden for the dog.

There is nothing not to like.

Shadow Cottage is a delightful cottage which is beautifully decorated and furnished throughout. The location is close to the beach, many lovely restaurants and shops. A great base for exploring Nairn and the local area.

The owner left us a few wee extras - just made our stay that bit more special! We had 2 small dogs with us and again the host had thought of this and left a few wee treats to welcome them too. Cosy cottage, quirky layout but really modern and clean!

The location was good as near the beach, but also close to the local shops. Situated in a quiet street. Very comfortable accommodation with thoughtful welcome refreshment pack and gifts.

We were golfers and the cottage was very central and near to the golf club. There were plenty of bars and restaurants in the vicinity of the cottage too.

I travelled with my partner and 16 month old daughter and another couple with their 4 month old baby and golden retriever. it was a perfect size for us all. The location was also excellent. also the host was wonderful, she went out our way to make sure we had a good stay!
