It was a bit difficult to locate .That's not the hotels fault as the old access road is having some work completed.

This hotel was great value for money. I had a single room for one night and it was clean, comfortable and quiet at a great price. The dinner was fine and there was good space upstairs for a drink with a sea view. And the staff were super friendly.

Limited parking spaces. The hotel is quite hard to find and to get to. We were unfortunate to be given a room that hasn't been cleaned or made up upon arrival. But they gave us another room which was clean and decent without any fuss.

The location was great albeit hard to get to. It had the balcony overlooking the sea that you are allowed to smoke was a bonus. Got lounges and games room. Stunning views across the sea. Staff were friendly. We didn't use the breakfast service, so we are unable to comment on the quality. Clean room and comfortable bed and plenty of plug sockets.

Map directions did not direct me to the hotel, but to the front beach walkway about 100m away. This was using the location on booking.com People were smoking outside of the emergency exit with the door open which meant smoke was coming in through the hallways and into the main lounge area. Wifi very bad in the outer rooms which was a problem as I needed to work from the hotel.

Nice beachfront location Basic room with a single bed. Comfortable with standard amenities.

The staff wasn't overly helpful, the WiFi wasn't working (no WiFi even came up on the list to choose) but the clerk assured us it was working. One of our rooms was a single which was small but had a nice, new redecorated bathroom with walk in shower. Our other room was a two twin room which had a seriously outdated bathroom and fixtures. This hotel is NOT disability friendly. There is no lift, multi floors, multiple stairs to and from the entrances, to reception and to the rooms. The parking available was also a very small area.

We upgraded to a Bay view and the view was great, the room was large and clean and had a table and chairs so we could eat dinner in our room.

The room that we had was so amazing and I would not have wanted to stay in another room- however it would have been better if it had a walk in shower as my dad struggled to use the bath with the overhead shower - although it did have handrails. Unfortunately we were advised that they have no sea view rooms that had walk in showers. Not much to do in the hotel at night , entertainment wise- but in fairness, it might just have been the nights that we stayed there - as were only there for 3nts -

Location was excellent - esplanade was practically on your doorstep . The sea view from the room was wonderful- it was such a lovely way to start the morning . The hotel had beautiful gardens to sit in , whilst having a refreshing drink from the bar and enjoying the view. The staff were also amazing and so helpful.

Great location nearby ferry terminal, basically on the beach. Lovely. The price for a single room was really good. Having experience with single rooms the size of cupboard I was surprised how spacious this room was. It had as well plenty storage space and proper wardrobe

The hotel is just a bit dull and uninspiring. However I would rather have this at a budget price than pay 3 times more for somewhere more exciting.

I have stayed here before. It is a budget hotel with small single rooms (as expected) at a much lower price than any of the other places nearby that were available on my required dates. While being a little dated and in need of redecoration, the rooms at the Esplanade are very clean and everything works as it should, including a kettle with tea and coffee. The 2 members of staff I spoke to were friendly and helpful.

ROOM - was not as booked in that we were not provided with a room overlooking the garden. Our time of arrival may have been a problem to get it changed so we carried on without complaint. BATHROOM - probably a result of incorrect room - but their was no bath (did not affect us) but Shower was very small in which to operate. Again we are not 'complainers' and lived with it.

BREAKFAST - Very Good; excellent table service - no self-help; individual orders and food of quality. LOCATION - Very Good

Quite hard to find. Some signage on the main road would help especially as there are so many narrow one way streets in the vicinity. The car park is very small for the size of the place. It is a very old property and the geography of the hotel is complicated and not easy to negotiate with luggage. A lot of stairs even though there is a lift!!!

The property was very clean and quiet. Bedroom a bit dated but spotless and comfortable.

Unfortunately parking is a little hard but with its location it's hard to change. Wish I could of gotten a longer sleep the maid decided to knock on door at 9am. £100/night I would say is a little bit high for the room but I did book 2 weeks prior.

Room was nice, clean and modern, from what I seen the hotel was pretty nice inside.
