Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe shower was either freezing or boiling hot with the slightest turn on the control. No breakfast is available, and the food menu was far too narrow. Parking is non-existent next to the premises.
Location, bed, and bar were all excellent.

United KingdomThe service was understaffed on Sunday morning and all tables had to wait in excess of 20-mins to order and then wait even longer to be served food. This spoiled what was an otherwise very good experience. Good job we weren’t in a rush!

United StatesParking was a bit hard (pay parking in town across road), but the location does not say they have parking so I should have expected that.

United KingdomWe stayed midweek and for reasons we perfectly understand no breakfast is available. Whilst there are numerous cafes in the town I prefer to eat in.
Our room was very spacious with plenty of easy chairs and comfortables beds. The bathroom was exceptional with lots of space to put everything one needs in a bathroom and excellent lighting too.

United KingdomOr room, Arkle, was directly above the bar and we tried to have a relatively early night (around 10pm) but the noise from the bar was a disturbance. There wasn't music but we could hear all the conversations word for word of zone staff members. It only improved when one of if the staff members went home after telling her colleague her next shift started at 3pm the next day. After that there was peace 🛏️😴
The room was lovely with a nice vintage vibe, the food in the bar delicious and the staff attentive.

United KingdomLove the fact its full of history and so expect character, however the room we stayed in had a very low ceiling and a beam that even though you tried to remember was there, caught us out a few times! So felt, as we are tall, was constantly walking hunched over. The floor also has a slant that does disorientate you a little. But overall it's a lovely place.
The staff were very friendly and the hotel was very clean. Lovely stay. Lots of history. Right in centre of Ledbury.

United KingdomThe overnight accommodation was disappointing. We were staying in a room immediately above the bar and while the room had been tastefully decorated, the absence of carpets and noise insulation meant that every sound from the bar could be heard, every conversation. The staff are very good at closing the pub at midnight but then you have the hourly chime from the clock tower across the road and the squeak from the sign blowing outside the bedroom window in the wind. Despite both of us wearing ear plugs, we really didn’t get much sleep and went home feeling exhausted. It is a real shame as the rest of the experience was great. For those of you who are heavy sleepers this won’t be a problem for you at all.
The pub, the location, the staff and the food were the absolute highlights from our 2-night stay. The staff, particularly Lukasz, were all exceptional and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as they could - thank you! We enjoyed an evening meal there one night which was lovely, the breakfast service was okay. The pub itself has a lovely atmosphere, the fire was lit both days which was perfect for a chilly wintery weekend. We stayed in the Linwell room, a family room, which was tastefully decorated and spacious - loved the wonky floorboards, real character. Plenty of hot water for a soak in the tub.
