Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe beds weren't too comfortable so we all didn't sleep well but the house itself made up for that. It wouldn't put me off rebooking again
It was a brilliant location, very clean and easy to navigate on how to get in. We loved the folder that was left with all added information

United KingdomOne of the nicest properties I have ever stayed in. Gorgeous, quirky decor and very clean. Well equipped kitchen, super comfy beds and sofas and secure garden for the dog. Great location near to shops and places to eat and the pub! Short drive to the Witterings and Bracklesham Bay to watch the surfers. Crown and Anchor pub on Dell Quay and the Old Piggery farm shop and tea rooms near by are both a most! Than you Jane. A really fabulous house!

Germany-Unfortunately, the two sofas are already a bit worn out. - The king-size bed is also a bit sagging - Unfortunately, the room with the queen bed does not have blackout curtains. -The outdoor areas could also use some attention. For example: The entrance gate is completely rusted and squeaks. It is difficult to open and close because a plant has grown into the area. We had to use this gate to protect our dogs. Because the house is located directly (no sidewalk) in a curve on the street. We washed our laundry and wanted to hang it up on the big clothes dryer in the garden. However, the provided clothespins are all rusty. -Parking was a bit a challenge. Because it was not easy finding a parking spot nearby. We found loading and unloading directly in front of the house to be far too dangerous. The house is right on the curve and the cars are driving pretty fast and are just close to your car.
-The house is very nice and unusually furnished. -We especially liked the 2 bathrooms. -The kitchen has everything you need for cooking. - We were very happy about the little additional amenities such as: Fresh milk in the fridge, as well as tea and coffee. -The large garden was wonderful and safe for our dogs and we also enjoyed the sunset on the terrace. -the location was perfect for our excursions.

United KingdomThere was nothing we didnt like but I'd say it's easier with a car if there are children.
This is a beautiful cottage in Selsey, with lovely design features and everything you will need for a self catering holiday. There's a long garden with seating outside. An upstairs and downstairs bathroom which was so handy for my elderly mother. It's quiet and spacious with Selsey High Street a 5 min walk away, which has good cafes and a great pub restaurant, The Seal. We walked to The Lifeboat Inn on the seafront and also ate dressed crab on the seafront. I would definitely stay here again. Very quickly the cottage felt like home. There is also a very frequent bus service to Chichester which passes Pagnam Nature Reserve and the Lifeboat Centre and Inn. We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely stay again.

United KingdomDidn't bother us but good to note that the stairs to the bedrooms are very steep so might not be suitable for all. Entrance door was a bit stiff to open especially from inside.
Lovely place in Selsey. Great location and everything you need. Dog friendly as well. Selsey is a beautiful town very picturesque and from the house you have a choice of beaches and English coast paths. Will go back.

United KingdomLoved absolutely everything. The only improvement I could think of would be a little milk in the fridge on arrival for a cup of tea after a long journey.
Loved, loved, loved the decor. The colours, the pictures... So much thoughtful detail. Spacious two bedroom house. So convenient to have a downstairs bathroom. Upstairs bathroom had the perfect shower and a great roll top bath. Great garden. Well equipped attractive kitchen. Nice Dining area. Comfortable bed. We had a lovely stay. Would certainly book again.

United KingdomThis was a fantastic find, absolutely brilliant location, very clean. Super comfy beds (really should've looked at the make of the mattress in order to get one for myself!) The house was wonderfully decorated - very Rockett St George - mix of quirky items and fab prints. Although a welcome hamper was lacking there was milk supplied and tea/coffee/sugar etc, plus plenty of bin bags, dishwasher tablets etc. Everything you could need. Also worth noting that whilst there is no parking immediately outside (ok to load/unload) there is parking within 1minutes walk just along from the house, there was never a problem finding a space to park. Absolutely loved being such a close walk to the beach in one direction and even closer to local amenities in the opposite direction. Wonderful stay

United KingdomThe kitchen doesn't have a kettle but boiling water is available from the kitchen tap. As a bit of a dinosaur (!) I found that a bit off-putting so I did go out and buy a cheap kettle. The property is pet-friendly, as evidenced by the two dog bowls by the patio door, so anyone with an aversion to a few dog hairs should be aware of that. There's no off-street parking at the property and double yellow lines directly outside. There was no difficulty in finding on -street parking a very short walk from the house but anyone who needs to be able to park directly outside the house should appreciate that that won't be possible. One other small point is that a pint of milk in the fridge on arrival would have been greatly appreciated so that tired travellers could make a much-needed cup of tea before going to the shops...
A lovely, comfortable period property on a quiet back road just a short walk from the shops and the beach with sea views from the back of the house. The walk-in shower was to die for!! The kitchen is extremely well-equipped - I've stayed in a number of self-catering properties recently and it's easily one of the best. It's great having laundry facilities as well and I really appreciated little extras like L'Oréal, Dove and Bayliss & Harding toiletries in the bathroom and Surf detergent by the washing machine. The property is filled with fabulous, quirky artwork and I'm so taken with one picture I'm even planning to contact the owner to see if it might be possible for me to buy it!! I very much hope to come back to the house and stay another time and intend to recommend it to friends and relatives as well.

United KingdomWe arrived in the dark & it would have helped to have the house number visible somewhere. Instead we had to try & see neighbours numbers to work out which property it was. The bed in the main bedroom was far too soft for our liking & as a consequence we did something we haven’t done before & that was, leave early.
The property was clean & tidy. The beach was a five minute walk away, so the location was very good. It had everything we needed but was not luxurious.
