Car parking - surprised we had to pay extra? And why couldn't we get a ticket for our whole stay instead of having to refresh every 24 hours? Also no ventilation in the bathroom?

    Friendly staff lovely room location

Room service and bar opening times were the main concerns. It’s nice to get a drink after a game of golf or after a meal.

The breakfast was good, with plenty of choice.room a good size and comfortable, close to ferry on seafront. Disappointed that rooms were not serviced or replenished during our 3 night stay. Had to requested toilet rolls, extra tea milk etc all of which you’d expect from a 4 star hotel. Disappointed that bar closed early - 1 hour before advertised time which was not ideal for a group of 6 male golfers at the end of the day.

Spa facilities need to be updated on the website as there are no spa facilities or gym now, its just a leisure pool which is OK but has no beds around it so you can't really sit a relax.

We stayed in an Atrium view suite, separate living room, large double bedroom and large bathroom with bath tub and separate shower. Both living room and bedroom had a balcony out to the internal water garden atrium, so relaxing. Couldn't have asked for more.

Feel the hotel bar let them down - not quite in keeping with the style of the hotel. No beer at all as they had run out!!!

Location of hotel is wonderful - across the road from the prom and beautiful sunken gardens and close to pedestrian shopping street. Breakfast was very good with excellent choices and quality food.

Our keys stopped working 2 days on the trot, but the staff sorted it straightaway. There was litter someone's takeaway in the corridor to the green lift that was there the whole weekend.

The location and the atrium bedroom. Comfy bed, the facilities in the room, and it's got to be the best hairdryer in a hotel that I've stayed at.

I felt the hotel overall was outdated, simple things like a more modern TV could help improve this at a relatively low price

The breakfast was excellent, one of the nicest buffet breakfasts I have seen in a while. Great choice of fresh fruits, berry’s, chilled meats and cheese. With good quality produce used on the cooked English breakfast

Pool area however is tired and in need of an update - there’s the most unpleasant smell in the changing rooms, I suspect it to be the drain system. No air conditioning in a hot atrium room, so we left our balcony doors open to allow air to circulate. Unfortunately this meant we were rudely awoken at 7.45am when staff started setting up for a function. Bathroom - clean but in need of an update, black grout in the shower, shower curtain didn’t fit properly, and the water fell beyond the tray, soaking the floor (thankfully we still had our pool towels to soak this up) Dirty seat pad on the dressing table chair.

Pool is lovely. Staff are always polite and want to be of help. Breakfast room is bright and airy. Nice white fluffy towels. Comfy bed.

We were told room would be serviced every third day, but it was only serviced once. This caused issues with the hospitality tray and toilet rolls

Room - comfortable & spacious Breakfast - very good, but didn’t really cater for a diabetic diet. Manx kippers we’re delicious Location- exactly as we hoped for, full sea view, within easy reach of all the amenities

Apart, from some rooms being dated. This is because it is an old hotel. It is still a great hotel.

I have stayed in the Sefton before. I like the location. Staff are always friendly and helpful. The breakfast is great. Some rooms are a bit dated. But they are clean and tidy. It's a great place to stay. Transport from Douglas is easily accessed. So you can easily explore the rest of the Island. I know that it is a hotel. That I would certainly go back too.

Everything was fine at the Sefton. Friendliness of the staff, facilities, food and location. I just felt that in some areas it was such a shame that a beautiful Hotel was looking a little tired and in need of some cosmetic attention.
