Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumOne minor thing and one less minor thing. The first night we noticed the TV and the clothes iron were both malfunctioning. I mention it because I feel like they should have caught it sooner but to their credit, we reported it the next morning and it was fixed by the time we got back from the town. So that's good. The only REAL negative I'd say is that the elavators were on the fritz for pretty much 75% of our stay. They'd frequently be out of order or stuck somewhere. One time the elevator we were in braked brusquely and stopped completely (but started going again after 30 seconds or so). What with having a room on the 8th floor, taking the stairs wasn't really an option, so that wasn't exactly great.
It's a pretty good, solid hotel. Breakfast is good with a choice between contintental and english breakfast items, the rooms are nicely furnished and the beds are GREAT (no skimping there), the staff are friendly and helpful, and the location is fine in the sense that Glasgow isn't a particularly large city so you can pretty much get anywhere anytime (also, Charing Cross is right there).

AustraliaThere was a lot of construction surrounding the hotel which made access difficult during our stay. Also construction and demolition noise. Not the fault of the hotel.
Facilities at this hotel were excellent. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Large room with a good size bathroom. Located in the centre of town with an easy walk to all Glasgow attractions. Parking on site, albeit at an extra expense.

AustraliaNothing to do with the hotel per se, but as at June 2024 there are extensive road works going on around the hotel. Not noisy or overly inconvenient (particularly if you're on foot) but worth being aware of.
Located on the western side of the city centre, this property was convenient for exploring the city and the West End. My room on the ninth floor looked out to the west over Glasgow University - fantastic view! The room was well appointed, including a microwave. This was very handy (but remember no cutlery or crockery if you buy something to heat up from the relatively close Tesco or similar). The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet - could hear some movement from other guests but nothing too disruptive. I also enjoyed a meal in the onsite restaurant - reasonable value and friendly staff. I would very happily stay here again.

United KingdomThe car parking facility at the hotel is limited, and was very tight. I ended up parking in a multi-story car park a few minutes away with a discounted rate from the hotel.
Location is great, within easy walking distance of the city centre. My room was very nice, and I received a free upgrade on arrival which was unexpected and very nice. The breakfast was pleasant.

IrelandThe parking was extremely tight, probably the most difficult space I have ever tried to get into, it required at least a 20 point turn. Otherwise, everything else was perfect. One of my favourite hotels that I have stayed in
Location was great, hotel was tastefully decorated and kept very clean. Staff were friendly and the hotel felt in no way short-staffed. The food was great, I had the steak for dinner, I didn't try the breakfast.

United KingdomThe floors of the room and bathroom weren't as clean as could be expected. There was a lot of hair on our bathroom floor which puts me off. Dirty behind the bathroom door too. Our hand towel was dirty on arrival but we had another. The rooms were very very warm which was unpleasant. The bar staff were not knowledgeable on the wine choices - a small frustration but made a difference to customer service when you're advertising specific wines on the menu, but the bar staff can only find the house wines.
The room facilities on the whole were good. Toiletries were really nice. Great to have a fridge. Reception area and bar were good relaxing spaces. Clean linen.

IrelandSlightly disappointing breakfast. Had to ask for a decent coffee, and not enough fruit. Only 2 lifts for a hotel of that size is not enough, so there were long waits, and one broke down on my last day. A bit of noise from other room doors being closed. I would have preferred if key card was necessary to access the floors, either in the lift or a door to access lifts. Bedside lights inadequate, and other lighting not controllable from both sides, so much shuffling across the bed!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Room very clean. Good soundproofing, although as with most hotels the doors are heavy and not easy to close quietly. Very, very comfortable bed!
