Historically very interesting - building reflects the scientific, artistic and political heritage of the Salomons. Science theatre is a must see. Grounds pleasant and staff bubbly. Good breakfast.

The one thing that we didn’t like was not being able to shut off the skylight in the bedroom, we found it too light.

Beautiful grounds, very clean and helpful staff.

It would have been great if the restaurant was open for evening meals. The taxi into town for food was £15 each way - we went to the Giggling Squid which was wonderful. More than one member of evening staff to attend the reception and bar area would be ideal too. We were in the modern accommodation blocks not the main house.

Beautiful house in stunning grounds. There were deer in the gardens. Staff were friendly. Bed was comfy. I loved the little museum explaining the history of the house and it's owner.

It is a little institutional; but then it is primarily a conference venue. Walls are quite thin and with lots of guests coming and going it is a bit noisy - but they did provide ear plugs.

Clean and as described. Very good value for money.

The 'bouncy' floor in our annex accommodation felt as if we were in a structure that didn't quite fit in with the other rather splendid things that are on that overall estate. Having asked for a quiet room, and got a very speedy response that this would be provided, it amused us to find earplugs by each side of the bed! Was that someone with a sense of humour or just common sense?! As it happens, the guests in our neighbouring room only returned at about 03:30, not being especially noisy but... just one of those things, not something you can predict or do much about.

The staff, both in reception and in the bar.

Basic accommodation in a beautiful setting

Rooms are basic, but that was what I expected. No mini fridge in the room, though basic tea/kettle facilities. Double bed was two singles pushed together, so you couldn't really lie in the middle. Worst thing is that the walls are thin and you can hear your neighbours (we were woken up by somebody coming back drunk at 3am trying to get into their room).

Lovely property with a nice breakfast and friendly staff. The estate is beautiful and green and a little bit out of town which is nice and relaxed. Breakfast was a buffet with hot food (full english breakfast), fruits/yoghurt, toast, and pastries.

We had a couple of minor issues with the cleanliness of the room. Be aware that there is a steepish walk to some of the accommodation from the main building where breakfast is served, which wouldn't suit anyone with mobility issues (although there is parking nearby).

Fabulous breakfast and in a lovely setting. Room was small but comfortable. The grounds/lake are gorgeous. The main building is beautiful and the staff are extremely helpful and welcoming.

nothing major, the walk up to the accomadation is a little steep but it keeps you fit.

Location, friendly staff and an excellent breakfast. Parking was easy and the centre of Tunbridge Wells is close. The rooms are fine but they do remind me of conference accomadation (which in fairness this what it often caters for)

A unique hotel, with lots of interesting features.

The only downside for us was the walk up from the main hotel to the annex accommodation after breakfast which was very steep. For elderly people and people with mobility issues, it would be better to drive down and park near the house itself.

Room was in an annex block and was extremely well fitted out and the bathroom looked new. Bed was comfortable. Had a delicious buffet breakfast in the main building the next day. The grounds of the Salomons estate were well worth exploring with lots of pretty features. It was also very interesting finding out about the various Salomon family members in the two rooms set up as a museum. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and informative.

It was a bit cold except in the bathroom. No double glazing and unfortunately the weather was not very warm although we were approaching May.

Everything we could need was there. Dishwasher, cooking facilites. Cosy place. Easy access. TV and internet. Easy parking.
