Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe hotel was very isolated if you didn't have a car. The hotel did a dip and dine at the weekend which meant that there were lots of non residents using the pool. Although there was plenty of choice of main course the dessert choice was very limited.
The outdoor heated pool was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included which was a bonus.

United KingdomVery unhappy with my room - a view of a wall - perhaps a metre from bedroom window. 3 out of the 4 nights I could not sleep. I was ground floor room. The room immediately above mine, I presume had Lino flooring - not carpet and underlay. I could here the guests walking across the room (like a herd of elephants) - using the bathroom and even snoring (very loud). Huge error - please management check this out - Lino on first floor major mistake.
Excellent food, both breakfast and dinner.

was lovely and clean, nice and quiet and very comfortable beds.

NetherlandsLocation is a bit far away from everything. Also not as close to the bay as we hoped. Swimming pool was closed due to problems and regular opening times are such that it can hardly be used by guests that stay for one night.

IndiaThe Saints Bay hotel is a wonderful little hotel on the, as the same suggests, Saint's bay. It is very close to a few beautiful cliff walks, and accessible by busses that take you directly to the town centre. The staff is extremely friendly and kind. They cooked us free dinner when we got late coming down to grab dinner ourselves, and also volunteered to drop us to the airport when we realised the cabs are all booked out. Would definitely recommend staying here.

JerseyThea acoustics of the separating rooms are the worst I have ever experienced. I could hear everything in the neighboring rooms and especially above. Literally everything. First night I got about 3 hours broken sleep due to the snoring of a man above. I asked the next day if I could change rooms, but I was advised that the occupier had gone and another person was in that room. However again I could hear the snoring so loud again that even with ear plugs it was like the man was in my room! I had to play music on my phone to help drown it out. Additionally, staff in a room 3 rooms away form me and upstairs had their window open and were talking very loudly at 1:45am and I could hear it my my room, I initially thought they must be outside by the pool area, so went to have a look and was going to politely ask them to keep it down, I was shocked to realize that they were a room. Both days the people upstairs got up at 6am and because the sound separation is so poor I heard everything from their alarm, them coughing, farting, urinating, washing. So my second night I again had approx. 3 hours broken sleep. As a noise consultant, I am suitably qualified to advise that the separating floors certainly do not meet current regulation standards. Don't even start me me the restaurant....
The location is lovely

United KingdomUpon arrival the hotel was locked however the (manager) came to let us in and just told us where our room was he did not offer to help. during the night there was an almighty noise outside the room window it was like a fog horn and very loud we could not sleep at all, i called the manager who told me he could not do anything until morning so we will just have to put up with it. the next morning we went to reception to report the shower did not work and the noise in the night. we were told the shower will be fixed and as for the noise (tough) if we want another room then look for another hotel, was his reply. He was arrogant and did not care in any way. so in short for the money we paid it was not a good stay at all. if you can find another hotel first then please do this would only be my last resort.
The Hotel was in a nice area, the room was a good size and to be fair the room was clean.

United KingdomWould have liked to see a more variable evening meal menu, the prices reflected the high standard the chef has achieved but a couple of 'simpler' meals are sometimes all you want after a long day out.
Super location, great view from balcony. Room was well appointed. The staff were so friendly and went out of their way to accommodate your needs - I feel this was the hotel's greatest strength.

United KingdomI have never experienced such an appalling time. Unfortunately my stay can only be described as a disaster. The most inhospitable staff. The only star was the lady on reception, however she has to manage the bar at the same time. Never again!

United KingdomThe hotel needs updating. Everything was 'tired' - shows every sign of lacking upkeep. Paid extra for a balcony but the view was the glass roof of the dining hall!
The location was beautiful, the cliffs, the bays and beaches, the coastline, all spectacular and very peaceful.
