Service at dinner was a little slow, but that didn't detract from our stay.

Room view was superb: overlooking the 1st tee at St Andrews. Breakfast was one of the best I've ever had away from home.

Wonderful old-world charm with our room overlooking the famous golf course. Loved this hotel. The atmosphere was that of a golfing club with rooms and spaces to meet and relax. Very close to the beach and the University part of the city. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Restaurant available for dinner and breakfast. Town and sights are an easy walk. Beach close by to walk along. Historic sights to see also. Plenty to see in the town. We had a family room which was very spacious with a lovely sitting area to enjoy the view.

    The shower

The Russacks is a wonderful hotel, there is no denying. It’s a gorgeous location, the staff were amazing and the bed was so comfortable, plus we had a stunning view of the beach! It pains me to fault it because it really is a lovely hotel but unfortunately our shower did not work during our stay. There was no hot water and the water was trickling, not something you’d expect for the price you’re paying to stay here. I hate to make a bad review because I think if you want to stay here then you should, it’s perfect location and good walking distance from everything. We really enjoyed our stay but had we been staying for 2 nights and not 1 we would of been really disappointed with the fact that we could not wash while staying there especially after a long journey as all you want to do it get clean and we couldn’t because it was freezing and very little water was coming out. I think we would have made more of a fuss if we were staying longer but the hotel really is so lovely and we weren’t staying for long so just made do with what we had. I just hope they can get the issues of the water sorted out as it seemed to be an on going problem when we called up and if it is a problem you should notify your guests so that they have that expectation in their mind before booking or lower your prices because you do not expect to be paying x amount and not be able to do one of the fundamental things at a hotel. It’s a bit like arriving to no sheets on your bed ahaha. All in all I really don’t want to make our stay into a negative I just think we paid a lot for one night so if someone had paid for more nights this would be seriously disappointing and not something you expect from a fancy hotel like the Russacks.

Our room looked out at the dumpsters and we heard bottles and trash being taken out throughout the night which was not great.

Nothing really but maybe would have been good to have the option of a spa since it is a 5 star. That being said, the hotel is so good that we didn’t miss not having a pool/spa at all.

A fabulous location overlooking the 18th hole. Staff was so friendly and couldn’t have done more to make us feel welcome. The food was first class too. Best hotel breakfast we have had. Our room was wonderful - really spacious and well-appointed.

Parking isn't ideal, you basically need to pay 35 pounds night (our most expensive place) I wish shower doors were provided in the UK. Dinner was slow but the manager handled everything very professionally.

Location is excellent, right on the 18th hole of the Old Course. Every one of the front staff and the restaurant manager were friendly, helpful, and professional. Rooms were exactly as expected, big comfortable beds, well decorated, warm feel, the meals were good, and we had a great time in St Andrews.

Wait time within ‘The Bridge’ restaurant. I booked the table weeks I’m advance, which was also confirmed the day or two before my arrival by phone call from the restaurant. Approx 2hrs before our booking I happened to check my emails and seen it had been moved to 15mins later. This wasn’t an issue for us, we waited in the bar however we had to remind the staff we were there and got seated around 40mins after my initial booking slot which was disappointing as this was a birthday celebration and was booked weeks prior. Starter was then served around 1.5hrs after being seated - the service was so slow. Tables around us were experiencing the same issue. We received a comp bottle of fizz which was a nice apology but unfortunately didn’t make up for the wait. Staff were apologetic.

Perfect locations, lovely hotel and friendly staff.

Our room was a victim of restructuring- there was no external window except through a little arch where there was a half baked sitting area. The bathroom was small and the lighting woeful, we disassembled the lights just to see ourselves in the mirror

Great location, lovely breakfast room and very good breakfasts, rooftop restaurant good food if expensive and great views
