The sound proofing in the rooms is not good. Got woken up on several occasions. Also, would prefer that the room is cleaned without having to state we wanted it cleaning. We had no clean towels or cups unless we asked. Also, the road leading to the hotel is very dark and it wasn't great for walking along as night.

Staff were all very polite and friendly. The breakfast had plenty of choice. Our room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable.

Whilst lovely, the hotel is in need of an update. It also is probably more for the older person. 2 out of 3 Sockets in our room didn't work. The decor was tired and cracked.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff. Great location for the town. The history of the place is fascinating. The town is just a 10 minute walk away. It being that bit away from the centre means you get a peaceful night. The breakfast was lovely, great choice and plenty available.

Putting weight on with the mega breakfast. Seriously, for the money, what's not to like.

Location good with plenty of parking on site. Staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms are clean with fresh white bedding. The hotel is somewhat dated and could benefit from a refurb, but heyho, who has that kind of money, and at £66 for a couple with a mega buffet breakfast, I'll pass on the refurb. All in all - excellent value for money. Oh - bonus...a well stocked bar. We will definitely return.

Room was so small and you could only get one seat on veranda as the door is opposite way to be able to get out ..I paid just for bed and breakfast but several people we spoke to paid much less and had evening meal as well ..

Friendly staff.and the breakfast are good .It's nice to have entertainment on a few nights .The hotel really is lovely but a bit tired.

The Room was dated and not the cleanest hotel I have stayed in. Breakfast room a bit cramped. Carpets on the stairways a bit warm.

The Location, Good Car Parking, with in easy walk of the Town centre and central beach area.

The tiny bathroom in our room

The location was great, bed was very comfy, nice big fluffy towels, breakfast was great although it would best to call in advance if you are needing a particular time to eat as it was busy with coach trips when we were there but they managed to squeeze us in.

needs updating in public areas - carpet was thread bare in place. Disappointed to see outside sign with £32 BB when we paid £99 Bathroom ceiling should be painted then the whole room would have been okay.

Breakfast was good with a great selection. Room as clean and spacious with a large window. Good parking facilities

Reasonably priced and quite centrally located hotel
    • Leisure trip
    • Solo traveler

Hotel needed a bit of tlc - threadbare carpets on the stairways etc. Very much fin de siecle type of grand hotel that has passed its peak but is still a bit pretentious - the Colonial Room etc

Bed was comfortable and being a single bed it meant the bedroom as whole was quite spacious. The toilet / shower room was a bit cramped but manageable. Breakfast was OK. The staff were generally efficient especially the reception staff. Price was good - for 3 nights I paid not much more than one night in a Premier Inn who are fast pricing themselves out of the market.

The room was very tired and in need of some attention in decor, but also fully aware that this would reflect in the price

Close to where we needed to be. We were on a budget, however with the room and breakfast included it did exceed expectations. We had a very restful sleep the mattress and pillows were very comfortable and the bedding was clean The staff member on reception and staff in the dining room were very friendly, helpful and professional.

The hotel was a bit old fashioned which we quite liked but would not suit someone seeking a modern residence.

Good value clean accommodation in a good location close to the beach and shops but far away enough for peace and security. Very friendly staff.
