Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWindows in bedrooms don’t open far which I appreciate is a safety measure but it can get a bit airless which is a shame when you are by the sea

United KingdomWhile it was nice having a room with a sea view, due to the building being listed the windows are old/thin, you could hear everything, which could be loud late at night when bars were closing, making it difficult to sleep sometimes. The bed could benefit from a new mattress as the current one creaked every time you turned over. Blackout curtains would also be great as the street lights were very bright and lit up the room all night. The trains and hover crafts start early, so again, be prepared for a noisy start to your day. We're sure not all rooms would be the same, our friends were on a higher floor sea view room and didn't experience the amount noise we did.
It was a nice hotel, great location, over the road from train/bus links, making it easy to get around the island if you wanted a day off from driving. Close to beach, shops, plenty of places to eat and things to do. Very clean, friendly staff were always happy to help. The hotel restaurant served excellent food and the bar & lounge were nice places to relax.

United KingdomThere was a door joining other room if you didn't check the lock was on or not someone could walk in your room when you were sleeping or went outside. Hotel staff needs to tell this to guest so guest can make sure to lock that door so you can have your privacy.
Overall the hotel was good. The room's decor was a bit dated.

United KingdomThe wifi facility was absolutely bogus as the wifi did not work at all. When asked they said they had boosters earlier but not now and that's the reason for no internet.
We liked the location of the hotel and it was centrally placed with a good sun deck bar

United KingdomA premier room was booked, and a ‘king size’ bed expected, hopefully with at least some kind of open view. The initial room allocated had neither. However, after making an enquiry to Reception we were settled into another room which more than satisfied our anticipation at no extra cost, but only for three nights. Then we were returned to the original room for the remaining two nights.
Porridge was the best I have had at any venue in the last few years, and the cooked offerings were excellent.

United KingdomWe booked three rooms. We had a premier double with sea view which was one of the „better“ rooms with a sea view . The twin room was fine and the other room was too. Ours was the worst of our booking. We looked directly at the hovercraft but sea view if you look down the road. It wasn’t what I’d expected. Room expensive for what it was. It needs a refresh. Tired decor. Threadbare carpet threadbare curtains. Old furniture in room. Cracked bath. Bathroom Door was chipboard and broken off in corner. Window didn’t close. Very noisy as ground floor room and street lamp shining into room. Needs a good upgrade of decor and furniture as also bare walls. No croissants or pastries available at breakfast. We went for breakfast at 8 so maybe pastries were not ready. £135 for one night so it was a bit pricey compared to other hotels we‘ve stayed in before.
Location good and staff very friendly Coffee , tea and water in room Cooked breakfast option was nice

United KingdomThe room was next to the lift, which made it sound like furniture was being moved around. (we did not ask for a change of room as we were only there on a night and it wasn't a frequent noise, just a bit confusing at first.) After the first breakfast we were moved into the room for the bistro and were unable to sit in the bay windows (again we could have asked for this, but it wasn't that important, having seen we only looked out onto the hovercraft base and couldn't see the beach from there.
Breakfast was good plenty to eat and a good choice. Straight across the road from the pier, train and bus station. Around the corner from lots of shops and food outlets. Across from the promenade, a great location.

United KingdomParking on the street but it was cheap overnight parking and I used an App, so I could top up with more parking time, without going outside.
Friendly staff. The man working during the night was very helpful. I needed to go out for work during the night and he offered suggestions for my safety, how to get there, where to park etc. He also asked when I would be back, showing concern and exceptional customer service. The lady working in the morning was friendly and helpful. The location on the seafront is lovely and the building is interesting due to its history. The ensuite looked like a recent renovation. It was clean and welcoming, and really warm, which was lovely

United StatesThere was only a half role of toilet paper in my room. Also I had breakfast and was the first to arrive in the breakfast room. The waitress serviced the three tables around me, who arrived after me, first. After 20 minutes I had to get up and ask for tea. Since I was traveling solo, another couple came in and took my table by the window. Finally, I had to carry my luggage up the initial five or six steps to get into the lobby area.
The location was fantastic
