Room was in desperate need of refurbishment. Seemed like a start had been made but then abandoned. Poor soundproofing and plumbing needs attention ( warm water from cold water tap )!

A bit dated, shower was very tiny, and our room windows didn’t open so there was no air flow and it was rather stuffy.

Good location within a short walk to the beach and to the downtown area. Friendly and helpful staff, reasonable rates.

Would have been better to have a walk in shower.

We were on the third floor with a sea view. Very spacious room, needs a little T and C. Would have been nice to have a walk in shower but the shower worked well. Towels were really fluffy and soft. Bed comfortable. Breakfast was served to you which we really enjoyed, it meant it was hot and freshly cooked.

Wonderful location friendly staff. Lovely big bathroom. View of river. Comfortable bed. Exceptional high quality not drinks- even in high end hotels only OF tips and Nescafe but this was far better.

Very limited parking.

Very good breakfast with plenty of choice. View from room overlooking the sea with good clear views across the estuary towards Dawlish and Dawlish Warren.

Night porter was not much help upon checking in out of hours - day staff much more helpful Hotel is dated, but clean and sufficient for an overnight stay. Car park is tiny, and limited on road parking outside the front of the hotel, we got lucky but if the road is full you will need to pay to park somewhere and walk

I was aware when booking that the restaurant is not currently open for dinner. However, there is a notice by the main entrance advertising sandwiches etc being available. I think this notice should be taken down as it seems misleading - I was hoping for a light lunch (perhaps a sandwich) one day and was told these were not available.

Really pleasant room with lovely views overlooking the coast. Very good breakfasts with hot food cooked freshly to order - so much better than the hot breakfast buffet on offer in many hotels these days. Hotel in very nice location (although being up a hill might be challenging to less mobile guests), close to the town centre and a pleasant short stroll through gardens to the beach. Very pleasant and helpful staff and good to have a nice bar to be able to drink and socialise in.

It is a shame the hotel does not do dinner. Unfortunately we had an overnight leak from the ceiling which dripped down onto the occasional table and damaged my laptop. The hotel management were very apologetic, helpful and resolved the matter satisfactorily without hassle.

Room was comfortable and had a lovely sea view (requested). Breakfast was very good. Location was very good, being an easy walk to the beach. Staff helpful and pleasant.

I have always found this hotel very welcoming and staff helpful and polite. I liked our room, only criticism I have about our room, is that the bathroom could do with a tidy up around sink and bath/shower area. But it was clean,

Rooms rather tired but bed very comfortable. There were no plug sockets above the dressing table/side board so had to plug kettle in on floor, and stretch hair dryer towards mirror!

Breakfast was excellant, some continental/cereal offer and a lovely cooked choice too. Small but nice bar, lounge and our dog able to join us. Room had a water bowl, poop bags and a ball to welcome our four legged friend. Good location with gardens and dog walking area in front of hotel, 5 minutes to the beach, 10 minutes to town centre, railway station.
