We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

Location is good for walks /runs in Richmond Park and along the river. Town is a few minutes walk away with good a range of pubs and restaurants and train station (direct to Twickenham).

United KingdomThe hotel is overpriced for what you get. At £140/£160 a night, it is cheaper than other local hotels but not worth the money at all. Cheap and worn out features in the room. The floor in the bathroom was horrible, looked like a public toilet. Cheap, flimsy kettle. No TV (why?!) Not as clean as it should be. Creaky beds. Even the door key kept falling apart. It really felt like there were zero niceties. The heat in the room was the worst thing! We were so uncomfortably hot throughout the night. The towel rail in the bathroom was boiling hot and could not be turned off so impacted on the room. Couldn't wait to get out into the fresh air. We didn't have breakfast there but it didn't look great. So we went to the Hilton in Syon Park for breakfast instead which was amazing and much needed after an unpleasant night's sleep.
Stayed for one night in a family room with my husband and two young children. The location and free, convenient parking were best bits but the rest was poor!

United KingdomRude girl behind bar and even though we were hotel guests she said we had to leave the bar at 8.30 due to electrical problem with til. We asked if we could put drinks on our room account but she refused and said we had to go. Room next to noisy road and no TV in room. Steep steps to rooms.

Location convenient for us and lovely walk along the river. Easy parking. Staff all pleasant and helpful. The pub was cosy and welcoming with an open fire. However, our room was up a flight of external stairs. The room was clean and well furnished BUT the mattress was sagging and worn out. Also there was no TV. Breakfast was good - cooked to order. We were served by the manager and mentioned the uncomfortable bed and lack of TV. He said he had requested a replacement several times and that all TV's had been removed from all the group's premises some time ago to save the expense of the licences. Have not stayed in a hotel or B+B for decades that has not had TV in the rooms.

United KingdomOn arrival staff not helpful I had a key with a code wasn’t shown how to operate didn’t show me ware my room was as staff bizzy talking to people in bar . However when I did get to my room omg all furniture at least 30yrs old the shower was over bath so any body having difficulty lifting your leg then you couldn’t shower and on top of that NO Television in room I stayed in hotels all over the world and this is the first hotel I stayed in with no TV one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in , would not stay again I rather sleep in my car .
I liked free parking apart from that nothing .

United KingdomTo be fair. Not a lot. Bar closed by 9:30 despite advertising as 11. So we couldn’t have anything to eat or drink. Sheets were badly stained. Couldn’t find anyone to discuss it with as the site was totally locked. So used a towel to put over it. We were to embarrassed to complain at breakfast. Which by the way was awesome.
Location is good. Close to Ham House. Breakfast was excellent.
