Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelThe place is very cosy but it needs money put into improvements, damp and peeling wallpaperI didn't like going up and down stairs with no proper banister, and midway down the hall up there are 3 steps, not well-marked. The tap in my sink was queen, needs changing
Breakfast was fine, not everything's hot enough

United KingdomRoom information about parking location, layout of hotel facilities and details of access to gardens and grounds would have added to our enjoyment.
Room was most satisfactory and had a nice outlook. Breakfast and dinner were of a high standard and staff were good. Hotel offered good value for quite high prices.

United KingdomLiked everything but do not think it would suit everyone, particularly anyone of an age or with a disability who could not easily manage stairs or get into bath. Or anyone expecting an exciting night out.
Lovely, peaceful setting. Given the age of the building- 17th -19th century - I don't think the owners can do any more to improve facilities. E.g. rooms are necessarily smaller than in a more modern hotel with same star rating. Very relaxing, however. Loved spa bath in our room. Excellent, friendly and knowledgeable host.

United KingdomI think some room can be refreshed, I have been there 10 years ago and it didn't seem that the room had any uplift, but overall still very comfy, spacious, and clean.
Nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The hotel has a nice outdoor garden, a restaurant with fine cuisine and a lovely bistros with great food. The room and bathroom are spacious and I particularly enjoyed the jacuzzi bath. The hotel is well located just an hour from Edinburgh Airport. The price was competitive compared to other hotels .

United KingdomThere is not much to dislike about camp hotel Perhaps the staircase is abit tricky so if one is disabled be aware it's a thin spiral staircase
We stayed in the eyerie room which is almost like it's own flat minus a kitchen The room is beautiful and bathroom stunning, complimentary shower bits and the usual teas/coffee sachets Bed is the comfiest bed I've ever slept in and the sofa in the lounge area also super comfy Camp Hotel also allows dogs but only in the room not in public areas such as the bar and bistro which is understandable There is also parking on site which is very handy and garden areas which also allows dogs as long as on lead

United StatesNothing, the property is outstanding value and excellent value in every aspect.
Fantastic room (we stayed in a standard suite). Well decorated, larger than anticipated with a huge bathroom and a lovely garden view. Quiet and private. It was like staying in a stately home with the many nooks and crannies within the property. We ate dinner in the adjacent Potting Shed with local family, and the food was excellent. We had the included breakfast in the main dining room which was lovely, and the breakfast substantial and very good with many choices. Beautiful grounds. Very helpful staff at reception, the dining room and restaurants.

United KingdomSome of the facilities getting tired with a few "in your face" essential maintenance issues needing addressed. A little effort could make this a much better experience. Well pressed pillow slips but a hole in one. My pet hate; the bathroom fan didn't work so the mirror steams up, so after a long wait you can shave! Some dust needing dusted..
Dinner and breakfast excellent and reasonably priced, Staff absolutely excellent Very comfortable king size bed in a room with plenty of space. Absolutely quiet with a good sleep guaranteed.

The Roman Camp was a lovely, traditional hotel. Our rooms were large and comfortable. Staff were friendly, food was excellent, we enjoyed breakfast. We also ate an evening meal in The Potting Shed which was good. The grounds are stunning. I would love to go back and have a proper walk there.

GermanyFor Dinner , an"à la carte" selection in addition to the only choice of a complete menue would be an option to attract more guests to dining more than once in the Restaurant. It is more than a pity, that the walled garden belonging to the house is not very well maintained at present (both the flower and the herbal part of the garden). This may cause sustained damage to some parts of this garden in the forseeable future...
Fantastic mansion with a special atmosphere, for example a very stylish and comfortable lounge. Bar well equipped (although the barkeeper seemed having not that much knowledge about the different drinks (e.g. Whiskys).

GermanyAbsolutely nothing. Just worried, where the peacock is gone.
Best country hotel in Scotland. Been there 4 times now. Run by a very friendly family. Wonderfully set on the broad river Theis. Full of charme, fire places, creaky wooden floors. With so much character I don't mind minor imperfectnesses. It's from the 17th century, so what can one expect?! Food fabulous, would return over and over again. We got an upgrade into a wonderful superior room. Very nice, thank you. We had a suite for our honeymoon there last year, which was also great. Years ago I stayed in a small double and the following year as well. Also nicely decorated rooms.
