It would have been great if there were sockets near the bed, but we managed to work around that.

We had a wonderful stay at Rocklea Guest House. Liz and Chris, the hosts, were incredibly lovely. They struck the perfect balance of being friendly, helpful and engaging in conversations while remaining polite and non-intrusive. The breakfast served each morning was fantastic—one of the best we've had out of breakfasts provided by accommodations. The food is prepared specifically for you (i.e. not a buffet) and served warm. It was also clear that Liz and Chris are dedicated to using high-quality and fresh ingredients. The room was quite small but cosy and well-equipped, e.g. mini fridge, luggage racks, hairdryer, kettle, water, milk, tea bags and coffee sachets. The beds were really comfortable as well, and the room was quiet and we had a nice view of the garden. The location was really convenient, as it was just a 10 to 15-minute walk from the Windermere train station and the town, which has 3 supermarkets and some restaurants and cafes. Liz and Chris also helped to store our luggage on the last day after we checked out, as we still had some time to explore before leaving the area. We appreciate the effort Liz and Chris put into ensuring we had the best time possible. I would recommend Rocklea Guest House to anyone looking for a delightful and welcoming place to stay in Lake District.

Location. Breakfast is excellent. Nothing was a problem. Rooms are very comfortable. Liz and Chris were excellent. They made us feel at home from the time we arrived. They came up with some wonderful day trips to do. And places to eat. When I travel back to the lakes district, this is where I will be staying. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Room comfy but a bit small.

Ideally situated to visit the lake district. Walking distance from both Windermere city center and Bowness city center. Liz and Chris were amazing hosts: always attentive, help us with our drenched clothes and we enjoyed the great breakfast. They made us fell at home.

Everything about Rocklea was amazing, from the warm welcome to the comfortable rooms and the delicious breakfast. We ate 4 breakfasts on the menu- all of which were tasty and beautifully presented. Our accommodation on the top floor was comfortable and spacious, it offered a seating area, plenty of natural light and a big comfortable bed. Out hosts Liz and Chris couldn't have been more helpful. We were expecting private parking, but it was roadside parking but we has no problem finding a space at whatever time we returned to the accommodation.

No bad thing to say about this property, we enjoyed every moment there.

The room is very comfortable, lovely decorated, cozy and spacious. Heater worked well. Hosts are very lovely, helpful and gave us good advices. Highly recommended.

That we couldn’t stay longer!

Perfect stay all round, bedroom was fantastic, the pictures don’t do it justice. We stayed in the Ullswater room and it was so spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast options are great and both Liz and Chris are very accommodating and approachable. The property is about a 10 minute walk into Bowness centre so close enough to all the shops and restaurants but the property itself is lovely and quiet.

Lovely couple running a lovely guest house in Windermere. A short walk to the small town and a good pub across the road. Easy free parking and excellent breakfast. Definitely recommended.

We stayed in the Castlerigg room which was beautiful, comfy and spacious with the added bonus of a mini fridge which was always topped up with chilled bottled water..perfect especially after long walks. Excellent location for walks into and around the town with lots of great recommendations given to us when we checked in. Friendly and welcoming hosts who made sure we always had everything we could need. The breakfast was fantastic with lots to choose from on the menu too. Highly recommend staying here.
