Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomChristie provided above and beyond hospitality. He was very friendly and welcoming to us on arrival and during the rest of our stay. In setting out his accommodation he thought of everything, nothing was amiss and we wanted for nothing during our stay. It is set in a serene part of the island at the end of a quiet no exit road, but not far from the town of Portree, so perfect if you like peace and quiet but want to be handy to local shops, cafe’s and is located centrally to the islands many attractions. Christie also had pet lambs and chickens and we were welcomed to join him in feeding them while we stayed, a little extra to the experience.

The view from the property is incredible, would recommend if you have a car as its a little out of the way but only 10 mins drive from Portree and very accessible from other touristic locations on the isle. The host Christie was really helpful and as a bonus left us fresh eggs and a welcome basket! The house was well equipped, extremely clean and cosy.

Hong KongOnly downside is Lots of small insects in the evening.
The apartment is located in a quiet countryside with great views of the hillside from the dinner area. Cheerful, kind and helpful hosts whom did prepare the place super clean stylised and comfy with 5 starred facilities. They are super considerate to provide us with lots of fresh eggs from their farm.since there is a shortage of eggs in the area. The kitchen is perfect with most of the seasoning, oil and spices. The coffee is wonderful too. The washer and dryer are in the laundry room next door .

Super clean. Great location to visit Isle of Skye. Private. This host has thought of everything. Great decor and special artistic touches. We couldn’t be more impressed. The perfect stay in Isle of Skye, and close to many attractions. This home is more than fully equipped for a long stay. Book this if you can. My wife is an Airbnb Superhost… and she commented that this was the best accommodation, the most comfortable and most complete accommodation we have visited in 6 months of travel.

Netherlandswe were lucky with the season, lots of little lambs! Christie could not give us fresh eggs, since the local fox had stolen his chickens, and the new ones did not lay yet. to compensate he pointed out the spots where the wildlife came to drink.
Christie came to pick me up at the beginning of the street. Very Kind, and supportive!

United KingdomThe road up to the accommodation was a bit tricky but you cant get the views without being a little off the beaten track.
The welcome box (Champagne, whiskey, hot chocolate, cakes, etc.) exceeded our expectations. Riverside was so cosy and comfortable, fitted with lovely furniture and paintings. The bathroom was very spacious and the rainforest shower was superb. We couldn't fault this accommodation and would gladly recommend it to others. The views from the living room were stunning and included mountains and forests.

United KingdomI would recommend the kitchen should have tin foil, shrink wrap and a set of oven gloves. Apart from these minor requirements there is nothing amiss about this property.
The fixtures and fittings were of an excellent quality. The owner had paid great attention to detail. Very comfortable bed, sufficient crockery and stuff in the kitchen and a beautiful welcome pack which included champagne (proper)! The view from the property was to die for especially from the breakfast/dining table when eating. There was even a drawer of essentials should one have forgotten toothpaste/razor etc.

IrelandNothing, really.
The property is in a perfect spot for hikers interested in visiting different areas on the Isle of Skye. The owners was super friendly and nice and they left us freshly laid eggs, a bottle of Prosecco, milk, a local beer, coffee and cakes, which was really appreciated. Guests can also use the laundry room and this is a bonus if you need to wash your clothes after having hiked in the mud. The cottage is lovely, quiet, quite big and very well designed and furnished. There's also a drawer with first aid necessities, such as period pads, and two robes to use when at home. Lastly, having Netflix and Amazon included is a great bonus and having a fully furnished kitchen is a great help since it's very hard to find a place where to eat because of the crazy amount of tourists on the island.

IcelandThere wasn´t anything we didn´t like about it. Just perfect!
We were greeted by the owner who had put in some fresh laid eggs and a gift basket with all sorts of goodies. He took a good time to talk to us about the area and he was really nice in every possible way. They had put in the effort to really surprise us with little things that made us feel very welcome. I really couldn´t reccomend this place enough!
