To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

AustraliaBreakfast was good overall however the eggs had very little flavour and the pancakes were quite floury. One thing that stood out was the fact that reception couldn’t call us a taxi unless it was going to the airport only.
The shower had great pressure and the cleaning staff were lovely and accommodating. Riu Plaza is right near Victoria Station which was a big bonus for us. We didn’t hear any noise from the light traffic below. The beds were comfortable.

United KingdomOn arrival, tired after a long journey the receptionist was business like but I did not feel very welcomed. We were a little early and was told our room wasn't ready, after 3pm I asked the receptionist how much longer did we have to wait as we were tired, once again there was not much friendliness but she agreed to put us in another room which was ready. We found that our room was in the basement. I understand that the hotel is in a prime location hence the cost, however although adequate the room was very similar to the ones at Premier Inn. We had expected something a bit more special.
Central location close to Victoria station. The staff and food at the restaurant was excellent.

The hotel was nice, clean and is well placed for accessing the trains and the underground. It is within walking distance of Buckingham Palace and there are plenty of restaurants and eating places around if you don’t want to venture too far.

United KingdomThe only comment here is the cold floor. We stayed in a family room and they all appeared to be in the basement. This meant the rooms were very cool. Carpets would have helped to warm things up, especially your feet!
Pretty much everything. The staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. They could teach others how to behave in a customer facing role. The breakfast was probably one of the best I've ever had in a hotel.

IsraelRequested room with a view and were put in basement accessibility room (which we didn't request) and they tried convincing us that low sink was a family room..we were 3 adults! We ended up in another basement room but at least sink at normal level. There was never hot water only lukewarm. At least basement room was quiet and beds comfortable. There is quite a maze to get to room but was more funny than bothersome once we learned the way...plenty of signs to help navigate the halls.
The breakfast was good and the location perfect. For the most part staff was nice except a couple at reception. We were also able to store our luggage on last day without an extra charge.

Location was great Room was spacious Breakfast was nice although being gluten free wasn’t sure what hot food i could eat as it wasn’t labelled with any allergens and the time we went for breakfast it was significantly busy to ask about what was in sausages etc however they did have a small cold selection with bread and cereals, fruits and yoghurts etc. Hot drinks and cold available and a good selection of cheese and meats. Staff were really lovely, however on check in was not told about tapping card in elevator so we were in lift for around 5 minutes until someone notified us of this to get to our floor, we were on 6th so didn’t fancy walking with bags. Able to leave bags on check out to explore and same on check in as we were early. It was a lovely overnight stay & I would absolutely book again! It definitely lived upto the Riu name.

United KingdomPaid extra for a city view which was very limited and was mainly looking at a building site. Also asked for a taxi when leaving but they only book to the airport which I thought was very poor. Lifts vould be awkward.
