Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe bed was very uncomfortable and it sloped so we had to put the pillows at the other side of the bed as when we got in our legs were higher and it was awful. The mattress wasn't great either. The tv didn't work and the wire for the aerial wouldn't connect. We stayed on a week night so the noise level was ok and managed to sleep for the most part, all things considered. If they invested in new mattresses and made sure the bed wasn't sloping I'd stay again.
The member of staff we met was very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomThe windows were so thin that it sounded as though they were all open at all times, as we were there on a Wednesday night it wasn’t too bad but you could still hear folks yelling fairly regularly, I can only imagine how bad it would be on a weekend, and the radiator didn’t work/was confusing to work.
It was very convenient how it was so close to the bus stop, and the side entrance so you didn’t have to keep walking through the bar was a good touch. The staff was super helpful when walking us through the different keys. The fact that the room had a fridge and a fairly large fan was good, and the room was spacious enough for two people.

South Africathe shared bathroom showers are not working properly, it’s either you got cold or boiling water. The floor makes noise when you walk, and you can hear your neighbor’s walk as well. there is a coffee station with no kettle
it’s value for your money, the bedroom was neat, clean and smelled fresh. I stayed during the week, so there was no noise from the bar or the club. the unit had a working heat, could also iron and hang my clothes.

United KingdomMusic a lot louder than we expected. Might as well have been in the nightclub. Kept us up all night. A little hard to find as advertised as a hotel but more like a hostel. No-one seemed to know where it was as its called REM Bar not hotel.

United KingdomTelevision is not working. The floor is producing squeaky sound when you walk. Early this morning there are some guys who were very loud, singing, talking and shouting at around 4am. They cannot be ask to be quiet as people were still sleeping. I almost got late from my appointment this morning. It was terrible.
It was clean and comfortable. Enough space. Accessible and very safe.

United KingdomThe TV was on the wall behind the bed. No remote, no way to switch on. There's no mirrors in the room so couldn't get dressed properly. There's tea and coffee and sugar but no kettle. There was banging and screaming "shut up" 6am-9am like someone was hammering things to the walls.
Was warm enough and the room had a bed so that counts for spmething

GermanyThe rooms are located directly above a club and while one night it was closed and I could sleep just fine, the second night the music was so loud it kept me up until 5am... great place to stay if you wanna go out and party until daybreak yourself, probably not the best option if you actually want some sleep on a weekend night. Maybe the hotel could put a soundproof layer on the ceiling or an explicit warning before you book your room.
Great location close to the city center and a bus terminal, the staff was very friendly and helpful, 10/10. Room and bathrooms are nice and clean, just one of the showers didn't work. You have a small fridge and water kettle in your room and bed was ok so far.

United KingdomIt is value for money, but in the room I stayed in the bathroom door wouldn't shut due to the ageing of the wood and imperfections. There was no shower gel or basic toiletries, I understand it's a cheap place but there is a fridge in the room, this would be a good improvement if they had basic toiletries.
Perfect location for Manchester city centre and only a 20 min walk to Manchester Academy. Comfortable bed, and good pressure with the shower. Great late check out time and easy to leave, pop keys in a box and let yourself out.

BelgiumOne shower didn’t work, the other was not consistent in temperature (either icey cold or scalding hot, no matter how lightly you touched the temp control button) also very low water pressure. When we were there the club below wasn’t open so luckily we got a decent night’s sleep, but bear in mind you might not if the club is open. The mattress could use replacing, you can feel the springs. TV in the room also didn’t work.

GermanyThe room was situated directly on top of a nightclub. The music was so loud you could Shazam it on your phone, and the bass rumbled the bed. It was difficult to sleep through that. This isn't the place to stay if you want to get your 8 hours in from 11pm - 7am, but it's perfect if you're getting back in the wee hours to kip in the daytime.
