Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt was a little bit difficult to find the entrance to the property from the road, some clearer instructions would have been nice (although the host was very helpful when called!)
Lovely and quiet and comfortable! Clean inside, didn't smell like dogs at all despite being pet friendly. Good facilities.

United KingdomFirst it was hard to find as postcode given takes you to Fir tree lodges. Property is on Point Hill Farm. Had to ask Fir tree how to find it. Would be good if hosts give more detail in how to find it. Could have been cleaner- mugs in cupboard were used/ still had drink at bottom. Other items in kitchen also not cleaned(we made sure everything was clean when we left). There is welcome tea/coffee in cupboard but empty sugar pot(again left it filled). My daughter had spilt something on her dress so I was going to use washing machine but but it was dirty/full of hair/animal fur. This was the only thing that let the lodge down for us.
Good accommodation for a weekend away-(first break away as a family since 2016) near to Chester / 20 mins from Zoo. Good location for visiting Cheshire/Liverpool or North Wales. Didn't meet hosts during our stay- key box to gain access to lodge Accommodation has everything you need for a short break away. 2 double beds- 1 bedroom has ensuite & a separate bathroom as well. There is also sofa bed. Open plan kitchen/living area. Kitchen with gas hob/fan oven. Washing machine. Smart TV & lovely table/chairs. On a farm- lovely to meet the donkey's & dogs/cats & see horses. Quiet despite being close to Chester. Massive industrial estate near by if you need anything-tesco/asda/Aldi/otger retailers 5 min drive away. Great for short break.

United KingdomBe aware this is situated in the same yard as working stables, so although it absolutely didn’t bother us at all, your outlook is of outhouses, and varying rural yard detritus. Again didn’t bother us but the accommodation itself is a little tired in places inside.
It was soooo peaceful, in the countryside. Yet literally right next to Chester. Absolutely brilliant location. Spacious accommodation. And on its own, so utterly private (apart from stable staff). We’d come again without a doubt.

United KingdomDidn't like the fact there were no staff to welcome us there. Would have made it a better experience to be welcomed. Also the tea cups badly scratched and stained which was very off putting. Most of the lodge was clean but the radiators, mirror and photo frames we covered in dust. There were also cobwebs inside, The drainage was very poor in shower and sink. Outside windows were covered in spiderwebs and the covers on chairs outside had bird poop on and were dirty so we couldn't sit outside. There was also a horrible strong smell in the bedroom with the shower on suite. Definitely needs improving.
We loved the location and how peaceful it was. Loved seeing the horses and donkeys.

United KingdomThe location is excellent, comfy beds to ensure restful nights sleep after a hard day at work! This is the second time staying here (we stayed here for 3 nights). On leaving i did forget my machinery key and i was already commuting to my work and the host went above and beyond by meeting me half way with a key which i so desperately needed! We will most definitely be staying here again (if available) on our next work trip! Thankyou again - PD GROUNDWORKS & RESIN LTD.

United KingdomVery friendly and helpful hosts. The lodge is in a quiet location but only 5 minutes drive from Chester. The beds are really comfy and the donkeys on the farm are great.
