Management policies around full payment on arrival and holding deposits after departure are archaic. We were told that we could only have a 1 hour allocated slot for access to the spa just hours before arrival - blamed on booking.com. it is NOT acceptable to advertise a 'spa hotel' and then severely limit access to the spa. Booking.com - do you prevent the hotel communicating this until hours before arrival?

Staff and rooms are great - food was passable and the building is lovely.

The room was amazing but very expensive. Room service was a small problem for evening meal. I think in the end it was the actual phone in the room. I used my mobile and rang reception

The A frame treehouse was amazing!! The spa was really good. We also had afternoon tea in the spa restaurant (fusion) so didn’t have to get changed to eat

The main restaurant (Rib Room) was very pricey so we didn’t eat there - but neither was anyone else! The other restaurant was ok - the meat was good on the carvery, but the vegetables were poor - I guess trying to keep the supply going for so many people means they get overdone, which they were.

Being alloted a 1 hour slot in the spa on arrival. I would have liked to have been able to rebook this as there was no guarantee when we arrived that a slot would be available prior to dinner.

Not all access to the spa couldn’t get to the outside facilities it was carded off and also I was part of a wedding party and was not offered any discount from the price I paid. Floor was very creaky in our room.

It was big venue for a wedding, good golf course and spa was good.

Collected key from reception which turned out to not be the room we booked, informed reception, then got correct room. Bedside lamp, the bulb didn't work. The bath was not clean, unsightly black marks and body hair. Most annoying was that the WiFi did not work, informed reception when we checked out who remarked that they were having WiFi issues, a note on reception would have been beneficial.

Room comfortable and nice views of hotel grounds. Pool was clean and liked the booking system, hence not too busy. Staff friendly at pool area.

Unfortunately there were some chavs partying in the room above us this started at midnight so we presumed they were from the wedding! I called reception first at 00:40 to report this as the music, gobby chavs and banging was ridiculous! The man at reception told me he would get this ‘sorted straight away’ unfortunately he didn’t I called again 1:10am as the party was still going on by these ignorant people, again I was told it would be sorted and again it wasn’t they finally stopped at 2am maybe suggest some security?

The food in the caverrry the meals are two cold do not like the swede mixed with carrot it is so sickly the breakfasts are cold two when we eat it a lot of people said the breakfast is a lot better at the golf club so they go there

Room was outdated stayed in the suite room but good size and the rib room for food was definitely in need of a clean and overhaul was dirty and walls and things looked dirty the spa wasn’t all included either had to pay extra to use a different pool and outside pool when paid £280 for room would think be able to use it

We ordered 3 sandwiches at £28 + and after 2 calls waited over an hour for delivery, kitchen delivery man apologised and said he would get the cost wiped of but didn’t

The staff were very good. When we arrived there was noise, loud music and wall thumping from room next door. We went down to reception and without hesitation they upgraded us to a luxury premier room on the top floor. We were very happy how quickly they sorted it and the new room was amazing! Had dinner and breakfast in Charcoa. Highly recommend. Beautifully decorated and reasonable prices. The breakfast buffet was awesome.

The one tiny downside of the hotel, and this is only nit picking is the cleanliness. Our room was quite new but there was quite a lot of stains on the walls, the inside of the toilet doors completely covered in dust. I think the type of paint used just shows everything up whereas you probably wouldn’t notice half of it. Also the coffee pods in the room, we had a box full of decaf and vanilla pods and only 1 normal coffee pod, even after the first service of the room this wasn’t topped up so couldn’t have another coffee. Herbal teas limited also. We had waters in the room on arrival but after first service they didn’t put anymore in the room, with it being a very hot summers weekend you at least expect a top up of the waters included with the price of the treehouse rooms.

The treehouse we stayed in was amazing. Having a hot tub and sauna was a bonus and made you want to stay in the room all the time. The hotel is good that there’s a few places to eat and drink so plenty to do and see.
