The bathroom was very cold, it did only have a small radiator and unfortunately this was not enough to heat the bathroom, we did receive a discount and the manager was very understanding and approachable but if we did stay again we would ask not to be booked into this room which was a shame as was a lovely room but with a very cold bathroom :-(

Very Friendly staff, clean room, lovely breakfast

I had bacon & egg sandwich for breakfast which was just okay. Bacon under cooked, egg over cooked on sourdough bread - soft bread roll would have been better. Only filter coffee available at breakfast despite coffee machine in the room. Despite this there was a good choice of cereal and juices

    Great location

Parking only inconvenient thing, but staff were helpful. They could have turned off the rain. LOL!

Our "Get Lost Walk" ended up with 4 of us staying in Hawkshead, Queens Head Inn which we couldn't fault. Very friendly welcome and nice pub food and obligatory sampling of some fine beers in the evening in a good atmosphere.

the website states permits not given to those booking through booking.com, but we were offered one on arrival, after we had paid for car parking ☹️

the hotel is cosy, the staff are very friendly, the rooms are clean, large and well equipped. The food is superb and there is a good range of beers. couldn't have asked for more.

The bar tender that covered the shifts on the last 2 days he was abrupt and not as friendly he had come from another branch - he shut the bar at 9.30 and told us to go to red lion which was awful .

We loved the breakfast & dinner fresh local produce and the staff especially Aimee , and the bar tender when we first arrived , the Chinese lady & the polish lady with blonde hair sorry I didn’t get names . They all made us feel so welcome 🤗 our first time in an Inn stay break we will be back !! So cozy .

    Perfect walking base in Hawkshead

The restaurant gets busy with non-guests so it's necessary to book, which isn't always easy for last minute stays and there was some miscommunication between different staff on from one day to the next. Other than that - it's a lovely place to stay.

Lovely old pub in the centre of Hawkshead village, perfect base for numerous walks around a beautiful area. Rooms are well designed with quality amenities, and comfortable beds. The restaurant offers good food and a decent range of beers in the character pub. Breakfast is excellent.

I really had to push hard to have anything bad to say. But, the bed was two singles pushed together. It's not even close to a deal breaker, and I appreciate that the hotel probably wants the flexibility of offering it as a twin room... I think the room deserves a proper king bed.

The staff were friendly, and helpful. In fact, they went above and beyond when we came down late for breakfast and fixed us up a wonderful breakfast anyway. The room was lovely. It was spotless, and the modern clean bathroom was great. You would think that the large window might make you feel a little conscious but I felt like we had all the privacy we needed, and it was lovely to turn down the lights and just enjoy the view. My only regret is that we didn't stay another night. The location was fantastic being so close to Scafell Pike and Helvellyn. I will definitely be staying here again. The village was beautiful and had so much more to offer than I expected.
