Breakfast was not brilliant. Poor quality yoghurt. Had to send poached egg back as was virtually raw

Lovely room, excellent towels in bathroom. Plenty of hot water and nice toiletries

The parking is quite a distance from the hotel so it would be wise to take bags you can easily carry.

This hotel is right in the historic centre of Shrewsbury and makes it ideal for exploring this wonderful town. The staff are wonderfully friendly. The breakfast was delightful.

Difficult approach by car. Lack of internet connection in Shrewsbury meant we could not access instructions provided by the hotel.

Excellent dinner - food and service.

Slightly dated would benefit from a bit of modernisation. This would make it amazing.

Lovely welcome from staff after a disappointing arrival in Shrewsbury at another location.. Offered an upgrade no extra charge very nice of them. Excellent location for everything in the town.

Be aware that there long walks to some rooms in the oldest part of the hotel. Floors are uneven due to the age of the building. But if you want the history and character of an old building then that is very much to be expected so I rather liked it.

Lots of character Friendly front desk They upgraded me! Nice quiet room Very central location

Shower wasn't particularly strong, but otherwise all good.

Well situated near the centre of town near to the main sites of interest. The food in the restaurant was good for dinner and breakfast (wide choice). The room was comfortable and looked out over a cobbled alley and you could see the church. Staff friendly and helpful Snooker room that we got to ourselves in the evening was a bonus.

Menu could have had more selection. Shortage of staff meant they were somewhat overstretched. What could be a wonderful outdoor courtyard with seating needs a lot of maintenance.

Location excellent, staff friendly and helpful. Everywhere was spotless.

Would have liked a secure car park on site for Motorcycles. But that’s not an issue once you know.

You will have trouble parking so we came in by train. This is not a fault of the hotel but a general problem in central Shrewsbury.

Central location is excellent and quiet. Staff could not have been more helpful. We have tried two rooms at this hotel, one was quite spacious and one was 'compact'.

We found the car park tricky to locate. Ideally, a map could be included when confirmation is received, or a post code.

Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice and fresh and hot. The room was lovely with original timber framework and the obligatory creaky and wonky floors! The bed was lovely and comfortable. Cosy guest lounge with a bar and a homely atmosphere.

I was disappointed with the breakfast, There was a very limited options on serials etc. I had a traditional English full breakfast, which was small and my poached egg was hard.

The receptionist was very helpful and informative, The room was comfortable and the bathroom was excellent. The hotel in general was very accommodating. Finally the location was great.

It was very noisy at night because of the bars next door - one of which was doing live karaoke. The bed was okay, but not the most comfortable. The plumbing worked but water pressure was low and the water took a long time to get warm first thing.

The staff were very helpful and gave a great service. The decor was charming. They offered veggie and vegan alternatives at breakfast, which is great. The Gilchrist and Soames toiletries were nice. Plus points to the hotel for having housed the homeless during the Covid 19 pandemic.

The showers were complicated to work and perhaps need upgrading. A walk in shower would have been good. I was near the lift so heard noise from it.

Camilla on Reception is a lovely lady and the night porter couldn't do enough for you. I've worked nights and know how horrible it can be. He was a lovely chap and a credit to your hotel. Breakfast good and nice choice at bar.

The water pressure in the showers on the top floor was not good, but otherwise the bathrooms were fine. If coming by car, parking is a bit of a challenge. The hotel has an arrangement with a long stay car park at a reduced fee of £10 per day - fine once you find it!

The staff at the hotel were wonderful - very friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We were a group of friends and all of our single rooms were very comfortable. Freshly cooked breakfast each morning was excellent and dinner on our first night was also very good. The hotel is very central - lots to see and do within walking distance, and cabs readily available for those who couldn't face the uphill return. I recommend reading the book "The Prince Rupert Hotel" telling their experience of housing the homeless during the first Covid lockdown
