My room was small & no bath which was a disappointment , I have stayed here in the past the allocated room was bigger & had a bath

The fact there is no lift . It was a very warm afternoon , and although there was a much appreciated fan when you open the window the road noise is overwhelming . Next time I would make sure I get the other side of the hotel .

It was easy to check in , staff helpful . Only thing there is no lift at the property , and having been travelling for a good few hours and struck in traffic I was tired and my room was on the first floor . It smelt lovely in the corridors always a good sign I say .

More tea bags and milk please, just seemed we were going to reception to replenish our tea/coffee a few too many times.

The room was clean, a very good size with a comfortable bed. extra towels and pillows were provided. Sound proofing was good as we didn't we hear the traffic at all. Unfortunately it made the room very airless and in the heat I would imagine very stifling, a fan is provided. So if you want the window open I would suggest ear plugs. Had to ask for extra milk and teabags a few times, as only provided with one tea bag and milk each. During our stay, we noticed a bulb gone, and the extractor fan was not working properly in the bathroom, We reported it and the faults were acted on. This time we didn't pay the extra £11 for breakfast, as not big eaters ,although previously we have eaten breakfast there and had no complaints. A choice of full English or continental , its a buffet service. On leaving the hotel site, there are car park barriers for patrons of the hotel and the road takes you on to a roundabout which is usually very busy. There is a KFC, and an Asda Express Garage, for snacks and papers, plus a Cash machine, on the same site as the hotel.

I was walking the Cambrian Way. it took me a long time beforehand to work out a safe way to walk from the Pontypool Park gates area to the hotel (google maps suggested walking down the dual carriageway). I realise relatively few people walk there but it would have been helpful if the hotel provided some advice beforehand about using the path by the canal to walk from the central town area.

Comfortable room. Good breakfast with service starting conveniently early at 06.30am. Harvester pub located very near so it was possible to buy a good meal rather than just fast food without needing to go very far away.

Breakfast was empty alot of the time, 1 or 2 members of staff trying to keep it filled up but as soon as new food went out it was all gone again, might be better with time slots

Cold breakfast plates. Cold baked beans.

Staff very friendly and helpful.My only observation being that the breakfast plates were cold and there breakfast got cold very quickly, the standard of the food was good.

Everything was fine. We were in the area to attend a family funeral. Our overnight stay helped us unwind before the crematorium attendance.
