Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesEach morning we asked for a very light breakfast as in one egg and sausage. Each time we ordered and wait or or waitress wrote down correctly as they repeated it…we received huge ..TWO EGGS TWO BACONSOR SAUSAGE AND MORE. wasted in us. And we did report to front desk as well. Quality fine just wish the kitchen had listened to wait staff.
View from the main house area absolutely breathtaking. Room no view and good but not excellent Dinners very good…snacks fine

United KingdomWedding on. Staff weren’t always available presumably busy with wedding guests. Alll wedding party on bottom floor and in the wine bar, didn’t feel like you could/should be in that bar or area as encroaching on wedding party.
Location. The building and surrounding were very nice. Confortable large room and ensuite. Facilities were good. Breakfast to the room was 10/10

United KingdomWe stayed in the lodge building in the grounds and it was quite noisy. You could hear other guests in adjacent rooms/ taps running / people walking across the floor in the room above. We wouldn’t book the lodge again. We would stay in the main building of the hotel

New ZealandThe experience to stay in a lovely Chateau is enough but the service and the most lovely staff made our stay special. We stayed in a Suite Room 2, this room is special with a round bed which was huge and very comfortable. The bathroom is large. A few stairs to walk up but there is a lift as well. Great view from windows either side. The restaurant food was great, the breakfast choices was excellent, there was a few options of cooked food and there was fresh fruit bowl, cereals and toast available to help yourself to. If you are booking for the High Tea, let me tell you this is so much food and so filling, we couldn't manage any dinner after this. It is very special having a High Tea in such a gorgeous setting.

United KingdomWe didn'tike the room allocated to us. It was in a new building, totally soulless and miserable, looks like a 60's block of flats, its called the Lodge, it isn't a Lodge at all, it was totally depressing. However, as soon as we spoke to Reception the gave us the choice of two different rooms. Nothing was too much trouble.
The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Food excellent. The Chateau was atmospheric and very comfortable. The location was outstanding. Food was very good too.

AustraliaThe lodge (which we thought was in the main building)!is scruffy and needs updating. The room we were given was very small for the money we payed.so we complained and were moved to the main building to a room that wasn’t much bigger . It could be so much better if they spent a bit of money on it.
It was a beautiful building but needs a bit of tlc as it’s a bit tired looking. The staff were lovely young people. The location was great with stunning views.

United KingdomBathroom in room could do with a little tlc and the room ventilation wasn’t great. The lodge rooms could do with sound proofing. More seating on the lower part of the garden by the round table would be a good edition.
Lady on check in was very friendly and welcoming. The garden and patio overlooking the Menai was lovely and well maintained. View from room was excellent. Breakfast was excellent.

United KingdomThe only small thing was that there didn't seem to be enough staff for breakfast and we're waiting for at least 15mins for coffee and toast wasn't quite enough full breakfast either, could probably have done with a bit more! But apart from that everything was wonderful. Evening meal was lovely, the food on offer was stunning! Couldn't fault it.
We love the chateaux, it's one of our favourite places to go for a special night, especially when the weather was as good as it was. Each room has it's very own distinct character so your never disappointed with the room that you book.

United KingdomThe room was quite small, furniture really needs updating. It was also far too hot in the room. I think when it’s hot they should invest in some plug air conditioning for the room to make the sleep more comfortable. (The fan did nothing)
The property itself was beautiful aswell as the surroundings. Bed was clean and comfortable. Staff were fabulous and the food was fantastic.
