Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The room was basic but exceptionally clean, bright and well maintained. The host was lovely and welcoming and the location was excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Friendly welcome, room with rear view, nice and sunny west facing, tea and coffee in room, nice bowl of fruit and some croissants in plastic sealed bags, bottles of water clothes rail to hang shirts ironing board on landing (if needed) comfortable bed, instant hot water in shower cubicle. Small sink and mirror in the ensuite toilet. I would have no issues staying here again. Enjoyed my stay.

United KingdomThere was nothing wrong with the room or facilities, it was just very basic. The area is very busy and loud on weekends, so bear that in mind if you're a light sleeper.
Lee was very welcoming and helpful. There were ear plugs left in the room which was great because it is in a very busy area and it's loud late into the night on weekends. It's a great location for exploring, very close to the beach and lots of great cafes, bars, restaurants, etc.

Perfect location for the seafront, pier and city centre. Amenities all very close. Quiet, very clean Lee was very friendly and helpful. Good price compared to other hotels in the area although no breakfast facilities. Plenty of tea and coffee. Room cleaned and bed changed every day. Would recommend and will return.

GermanyDuring my stay the internet didn't work well. I told them about, they fixed it, but unfortunately after a few hours it was broken again. Luckily I didn't depend on the wifi to have a great holiday, so that was a minor inconvenience.
The location was perfect for my visit, best location possible. The rooms was comfortable, super clean, and the staff was amazing, always helpful and ready to help. I want to mention again the cleaning of the whole building, spotless!

United KingdomNot a dislike, but the shower being in the room was a little strange... I understand given what one can do with the space in an old building. Likewise, the wifi was on the weak side, however, it still worked for emailing, just not for buying National Express tickets.
The staff were great!, the landlady was lovely, helpful and very understanding why I was late in due to transport issues. The room was clean, with Toilet, sink and shower in room… bed was comfy, and was well ventilated. And located close to some of the best bars in town.
