Cost of the breakfast. That was my only complaint

The staff were first class very friendly and helpful. The bedroom was comfortable and clean. Evening meal and breakfast was excellent although £17.50 for breakfast a bit on the high side

More of a wedding venue than a holiday one.we were the only two in the dining room as all the other guests were at a wedding so not much of an atmosphere

The gravel for parking and the road out is tricky for motorcyclists bot to maneuver their bikes and the risk of skidding the tyre and the foot when stationary.

Excellent choice for the breakfast menu between full and range of alternatives getting healthier. Evening meal was also good. I also liked the provision of biscuits with the tea/coffee tray in the room.

There was nothing I didn't like. It was very quiet but that is exactly what myself and partner wanted.

Hotel was superb, modern, clean and so comfortable, with lovely garden and seating area outside. Breakfast and evening meal so enjoyable, especially the mushroom soup, best I have ever tasted, and staff were friendly and attentive. Not too far from town centre if you are driving but too far to walk.

Lovely hotel. Friendly staff. Clean and well maintained. Our large room had access to a terrace through french windows which was great on a sunny day. Good base for exploring the surrounding area.

Bed wee bit hard but this is personal preference for a soft mattress.

The hotel is very much oriented to functions (weddings etc) so it doesn't offer all the facilities you might expect for a quite upmarket facitlity. It has a relatively small number of bedrooms (around 25 - 30) so meal times are restricted (hence the need to book in advance) However, the hotel is quiet andthe rooms are comfortable and reasonably well equipped, which certainly was a significant compensation, and you soon get into the routine!

The hotel is located on the outskirts of Selkirk, with pleanty of secure parking. It's a good base for touring the Borders, as we did. It provides breakfast and dinner, provided you book in advance (evening before for breakfast and in the morning for dinner). The food is of a good standard, probably pre-prepared, but some interesting options. The staff are friendly and very helpful. We had superb views over rolling countryside.

The design of the 'suite' we occupied was rather odd, with a 'mezanine' level second bedroom (which was rather small, and dark). We expected a suite on one level (two adjoining rooms with a bigger seating area), and not a rather oddly-shaped combination of living spaces.

The food at this hotel is exceptionally good, the menus cater for different diets (e.g. many vegetarian and gluten-free options clearly available) and the quality of the cooking and the ingredients was exceptionally good. We really rate this hotel for its food! Service in the restaurant & breakfast area was consistently good, friendly, swift and very appropriate.

I stayed here for a week and was very impressed by the staff who were all so friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable. I enjoyed the breakfast and there was a good variety available.

Staff training needed, nice young folk but not much idea on what to do, the managers very disorganised but friendly, which might be why the staff are not sure what they are doing.

Lovely bedroom, quiet and clean. The building has character and the potential to be very good once the few things ironed out.

In general the dinner menu and service was very poor. Even the breakfast, which is now almost universally a buffet, relied on unreliable table service. Against that the general facilities in the room: bed, TV, bathroom, space allowed were excellent
