Very noisy air con extractor right outside the bedroom window starting early on a Sunday morning (you should make your guests aware of this or offer a reduction on room rate) and no separate shower (as per room info) shower curtains are very dated.

The restaurant was a let down two nights running.. Meals took forever to arrive or were wrong. Tables did not get cleared. Twice our party was told it had not paid for drinks when we had. The wait staff were doing their best and were very apologetic but at the prices they charge, you expect better.

Stayed in Standard Double. Very comfortable room. Portable fan in room which was great in the heat. Main lobby, corridors and sitting rooms were covered in historical information about the Dam Busters who were stationed there during WW2 which was fascinating. Old world charm. The grounds were so beautiful and the children in our party loved playing outside on the lawn.

Minimal shade on terrace. Not enough staff to clear tables on terrace - we were on terrace for 5 hours without any glasses being removed. I’m Australian, luxury resorts always have a pool or gym

Unfortunately our room was above the kitchen area so could be noisy at times.

The reception staff were very polite and our room was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast area was spacious and the selection for breakfast was well laid out with lots of choice. The staff were attentive but not overbearing and the cooked breakfast has a lot of variations. Overall a very pleasant stay

No explanation about the hotel upon arrival from reception Sadly our room view was a rooftop Our starter arrived at the same time as the main meal, the young girl started to bicker with ne about it until another member of staff stepped in to sort it out

food in the hotel was delicious although rather pricey. Comfort and cleanliness was good, and the gardens were superb.

There was a wedding or event on so because it was so hot and only a fan to cool the room we did need to have the windows open so music could be heard till just before midnight. Fine for us but could be a problem for anyone who goes to bed earlier

Grounds are incredible and well maintained. Super friendly staff. Perfect location. Delicious breakfast.

Not staying longer!

The hotel is welcoming and atmospheric, the Squadron Bar is very special, and you can picture the history the building has seen. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, all the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a light and airy room, which was clean and well equipped. The breakfast was fabulous, and with the most amazing gardens to walk in, what more could you want! We will definitely be returning.

Our room 228 was everything we needed for our stay unfortunately the walls are very thin we could hear every word the people next door was saying and they were up late and up VERY early we had a late check out but didn’t use it because of the noise

The bedrooms need updating, which I know may mean raising the price, but at least upgrade the garden rooms.Not everyone staying is ex military. It's funny when you look at the old photos the bedrooms are beautiful. We had dinner in the private bar, which was great. The food was delicious, with huge portions we couldn't even make room for dessert. It's a shame that waiting staff don't know a little bit about the history. Gardens lovely to walk around, but maybe a map would be nice. They could do with some fresh marketing and linking in with Just Jane VIP events as it would have been nice to have met up with others the night better.
