Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaAs is usual with these older buildings there is no lift for betting luggage up stairs. And I am not fond of dogs in restaurants. A pity the outside garden pool wasn't available for use, obviously it wasn't heated.
Gorgeous Georgian manor house in a stunning rural location with spacious rooms and large bathrooms, comfy beds and excellent food and drink. Plenty of onsite parking. Robes of high quality. Mini fridge in room a bonus. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

United KingdomBath was a little difficult to access. A few decorative issues but that is clearly just a matter of personal choice.
The room was very large, loads of space but believe we had a deluxe room which are amongst the biggest. Bed and equally, if not more important, pillows were soooo comfortable. The staff were all brilliant, welcoming, efficient, cheerful and friendly. Food was very good and service at breakfast and dinner couldn't be faulted.

United KingdomThis couldn’t be avoided but the creaking of the floor boards in the adjacent room and above room kept me awake. Also things being dropped making a noise in the night. Batter on fish was soggy
We loved the landscaping, the views, the ambience. The quality of ingredients in dining The cocktail Heating

United KingdomThe shower water pressure was hopeless and the shower cubicle was tight for such a spacious bathroom. There was no shower gel provided and one of two little bottles of conditioner was half used which I would not expect from even a much cheaper hotel. Whilst the fridge was welcome it was mounted in an enclosed section of the lovely old wardrobe - perfect for not being seen but there was no means of ventilating the heat which means that the compressor was constantly working hard and therefore noisy.
Lovely big room with fabulous views of the mountains; a big bathroom with a separate ornate bath. The bed was big and comfy and we had a fridge with a bottle of milk which was a very nice and welcome touch. Bathrobes and slippers added a touch of luxury. The staff were very helpful and attentive.

United KingdomI loved the outdoor pool but it would be great if slightly heated as I could only manage 10mins.
Traditional but modern. Loved our room. Spa was nice and the treatments were amazing. We are both vegan and mentioned this when booking and there was plenty of options to choose from.

United KingdomWith it being so warm we had out window open and next doors was very loud until early hours and then up at the crack of dawn. We also weren’t informed you couldn’t use the spa area on wedding days so we couldn’t go on the Friday - which would have been good to know. The jacuzzi was also too cold!
Wonderful scenery, fab staff who couldn’t do enough.

United KingdomNothing at all to dislike.
Stunning former country house. Tastefully renovated. Immaculately clean. Amazing staff, nothing too much trouble. The room was gorgeous and the bathroom simply breathtaking with a view of the Beacons. The spa was a great touch with lovely staff and reasonable treatment prices. 10% off as a guest as well. Fantastic evening menu, beautifully cooked and presented food. Great views from the restaurant too. We arrived early and our room was ready. Check out was at 11am but we stored our luggage and used the spa for the day. Lovely grounds to walk around, all very well maintained.

The location was lovely and dog-friendly, with great food and beautiful walks nearby. Our converted stable room was surprisingly spacious and clean, with a large shower room. The restaurant offered excellent menu choices and impeccable service. Overall, a fantastic experience that exceeded our expectations.

United KingdomMy Husband I went to try out the spa facilities. the staff were incredibly polite and friendly but unfortunately the jacuzzi was very cold. the staff tried to amend this but to no avail. It was then the turn of the sauna..... this did not disappoint.
We ate in the restaurant during our visit and it was excellent. Great choice on the menu and it certainly didn't disappoint. Our room was in a converted stable and we were very pleasantly surprised at how lovely it was inc the large shower room. the whole venue was exceptionally clean. The Library and bar area included open roaring log fires and wood panelled walls. the perfect way to wind down after dinner.
