My expectations in booking a hostel, even though it was a single-occupancy room, were fairly low, so I was more than happily surprised by the set-up at Perth UHI Hostel. A corridor with only 4 rooms on it, a shared kitchen/lounge facility with all the appliances and utensils needed and, being on the top floor, a good view from the balcony. I couldn't have asked for more, and the staff were very approachable and helpful with all my enquiries. I'd definitely stay there again.

The mattress would slide down the bed frame, only a minor inconvenience, the wardrobe door in my room was broken, leaving it unusable, not great if you're staying more than a couple of nights. The bedding had a slight musty smell but a little spray with febreeze and it was okay

Cheap and cheerful room, close to the city centre, most facilities in good working order, fully equipped kitchen if you needed it. Friendly helpful staff member checking people in. Free car parking on site, which was very close to the block I was in. All of the communal areas were very clean and kept tidy at all times. Comes with bedding, which I know some hostels don't, so that's a bonus.

There was no towel in the room - I guess it was a mistake but it was a bit annoying. Next time, I'll check for the presence of a towel before getting into the shower.

A was a bit warm for a summer stay, but window could be opened to air the room, and the kitchen sink could do with some cleaning, but rest of kitchen OK.

Student accomodation with private bathroom and access to kitchen with balcony. The place was clean and quiet enough. Food places were within walking distance.

There was only 3 plates, glasses in the kitchen etc. And there was 4 beds in the apartments.

We didn't buy breakfast. But we bought some food in a nearby store and had it in our kitchen. That worked very well. It was nice to have a kitchen/living room to use in the evenings for talking and relaxing in the evenings.

The youth hostel room was a single bedroom with ensuite shower/bathroom. Shared kitchen had a balcony with an amazing view. Plenty of sockets in my room, nice warm shower, wifi was ample for my needs. It was easy to find and not too far from Town Centre. I left the car at YHA carpark and walked in, in 30 mins very easily. Morrisons supermarket was local too. Perth museum in town was free to visit with a great cafe.

Accidentally fell off the chair that was faulty (didn't notice at first) and quite small. There was also no brush or other cleaning tool left in a toilet. Didn't have much expectations about the kitchen but there was no dishes cleaner or any soap left, anyways that is not a big issue. Last one thing - didn't like the fact that they want you to have your own detergent for laundry service. Usually backpackers who travels by public transport do not bring the whole box of washing powder with them, especially when need only one wash. I didn't ask anything about it in reception, but that was written very clearly on the laundry doors.

Staff very friendly and welcoming, apartment in my block was quite empty and quiet, kitchen big and comfortable, there was no other guests so i could use it alone. Bed was comfortable enough for me. Place not as bad as expected as you can catch a bus to the town center or opposite way that goes up to Stirling (I used 7-days east Scotland rider ticket so didn't have to buy a ticket every single time), and besides that is not too long for a walk for those who walking a lot). It's a good place to stay for a good price

Sadly some of the people sharing my flat were rather noisy - doors slamming frequently very early in the morning. Otherwise everything was great.

Quiet peaceful location, good facilities, Tesco not too far away, bus stop just outside the yha which goes to bus station. Bedding provided and towels can be rented.

Too hot in the apartment - not enough air could get in the small gap the window could open to. No bowls to mix/ make food in or bake with.
