Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe returned after theatre at 10:50 wanting a nightcap, to find very noisy crowd in bar. Very loud and using consistently very foul language. Bar staff did not address and we felt really uncomfortable and didn’t feel able to say anything. Unsure if they were guests or locals using the bar. One barman was very curt with us. Shame as the rest of the stay was really good.
Very Friendly and helpful staff on reception and at dinner. Good size clean room with chair and desk and shelf space in bathroom to put your things on.

United KingdomThe staff member on the staff desk/bar on the late shift (past midnight) was a little rude. He clearly saw me approaching but chose not to remove his earphones until after I was stood in front of him, explaining that my key wouldn't let me into my room. He reluctantly drew his attention away from his phone and asked me to repeat myself.
Clean, spacious room. Big, comfy bed. Good facilities too, I like this hotel and will stay again.

United KingdomKettle didn’t work in the room. Staff were efficient but whilst not unfriendly weren’t exactly very welcoming. Sheets were clean but a bit thin. Parking costs were unwelcome and too expensive
Really great breakfast, room was good sized and facilities in room ok. Location was good and the decor decent.

United KingdomThe hotel is quite nice, particularly for the price. I think they are just finalising refurbishment after the name change, but rooms are already quite nice. Super breakfast and good position as well, very close to the station.

United KingdomThe Internet was very poor in the end I had to turn my WiFi off to be able to get onto the Internet or check my emails.
Very convenient for the station just a 5 min walk. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really nice with the cooked breakfast being cooked to order, which was nice. The town centre is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel.

United KingdomI really struggle with hot breakfast buffets at hotels. The eggs are always cold and hard, I think if you are paying £14 for breakfast you should really be getting a freshly cooked hot plate of food. That said there was a good range of items available for breakfast.
The Hotel was great value for money located close to Ipswich Station and Town Centre. The front of house team were friendly and helpful on arrival. The bar and restaurant area was spacious and gave the hotel a modern feel. My room was quiet and comfortable with good WiFi. The hotel was great for a short business stay and really well priced.

United KingdomIt’s got what we needed but is basic and no frills. It is a bit expensive for what it is - we’ve recently stayed in exceptional places at the same price.

A boxy brick budget hotel building with a lot more internal personality than Premier/Travelodge etc. Foyer/bar/bedroom furnishings all very nice. Location is brilliant for the train station - 5 minute walk.

United KingdomWe arrived and parked our car which we had to pay for, not an issue. The issue was that we went out for dinner and come back to no where to park and was expected to park off site somewhere and pay again! Once you’ve paid for a space it should be yours, this is the only thing that needs attention at the hotel as I know I wasn’t the only one this happened too!
The hotel is very quirky and has lovely decor! Great rooms great facilities

United KingdomThe fact that you have to pay £20 for parking for 2 days. The parking should be free for guests. Some other hotels it works out cheaper. Also the hot food should have been on a buffet so that you can go back if you want more food. Didnt like people having dogs in the restaurant especially when they were shaking themselves. To me its unhygienic around food.
The location was good. The room was big and the bed was very comfy with enough pillows.
