The hotel is very dated and could do with a huge makeover everywhere. Not many staff so service a little slow, however the staff on duty did their best. This hotel could be a real gem if it was upgraded.

It was quiet and the views were spectacular. The food in the bar and at breakfast was nice. Good value for money.

I was in room 33 and I just thought a picture hear and there would have been nice and softened it a bit because the walls were really quite bare. Other than that the room was absolutely fine

Lady on reception was lovely and helpful and the bed was very comfortable and clean. Price was excellent

The younger staff seemed a little inexperienced and overwhelmed at busy times. The bar was unable to cope after the event and people were queuing for a while. Breakfast was badly organised on the hot food side, there was always a shortage of bacon and a very long wait for more which emptied straight away. The room was very clean but could do with a lick of paint as there were lots of marks on the wall, and maybe a carpet cleaner would help.

The location has an amazing view and large car park. The room had plenty of tea/coffee, comfortable bed and good shower. Very quiet so had a good nights sleep. Don't be put off with the negatives as they didn't impact our stay, just wanted to make people aware.

It was a charming place near a charming Village, Scapegoat hill with a great pub. Staff was very accomodating. Food was good but rooms were smaller than ideal.

Being asked for a £100 deposit on my credit card refundable only when the room is deemed undamaged. I paid for the room in advance so it seems the trust in this transaction was all on my part. I think this is completely unacceptable, I said I would only leave a deposit when I had inspected and photographed the room in detail. Not what you need after a long drive arriving late at night.

    Clean & comfortable room.

Pillows in bed non existent. Could do with better ones. Would have been nice to have had evening meal in restaurant rather than the bar. Much nicer area and there was a guy in there with headphones on just talking on his phone all evening - its very disrespectful to couples having a meal. I know not hotel fault but restaurant area would have been much nicer.

Remote Food was good - steak and handmade proper chips makes a change. Breakfast very good also.

The buffet first breakfast, the plates were cold, investment in a plate warmer would be a good idea, even though they only do this sort of breakfast when they are really busy as the plates were hot when served to the us on the second day. The room was just a little bit tired especially in the bathroom where a cabinet could have a little tlc.

We stayed two nights the first breakfast was buffet style and was fine the second breakfast was buffet style for cornflakes, yogurt etc but table service for full english. Both breakfast were good. The room was very clean and comfortable, We had two good nights sleep.

I mentioned I was arriving Sunday between 7 and 8pm. Dinner which was in my package ceases being served at 7pm Sunday. Nobody mentioned this which was a pity.

Breakfast was very generous and hot. Dinners were standard fair but OK. Kopperberg pear cider was the bonus. I would definitely consider this again for work however my usual hotel which was fully booked for this trip is much nearer the office and serves fried bread at breakfast so the Pennine Manor would be a walking holiday stay not for the working week.

The ensuite bathroom was very dated, the shower was over the bath and the bath was stained. There was no soap so I had to use the little free shampoo bottle instead. Everywhere I have normally stayed you get a small free shower gel so I didn't bring any with me but unfortunately there was no shower gel either. I did ask for it at reception and some soap was put in our room.

Breakfast Room and breakfast lovely. Loved the view from the hill into the valley, plenty of parking spaced, bar very nice, loved the coffee.

We were not able to get water for the kettle to make tea.

I liked that fact that the room was on the ground floor as my mum was elderly and avoided the stairs. However, I did see a stair lift. The restaurant and bar were in the same building. It was quiet.
