Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaWe loved this property. It is a little off the beaten track but worth the diversion. The owners were very attentive to our needs, the breakfast was amazing and as we chose not to drive at night, we dined in. Our initial inquired revealed dinner was not available every day, so we shuffled our trip so we could visit on days when dinner was available. Well worth it. The Chef (owner) was very talented. The room was very well appointed in a classic style making it just that much more enjoyable.

United KingdomWhen we came back to learn it had closed. We were hoping to return for another visit.
Family run hotel that they took pride in. The breakfasts were superb with a wide choice served perfectly. The evening meals were scrumptious & a nice touch the owner gave a verbal introduction to each course & were the ingredients had come from locally.

United KingdomBeautiful historic country house with amazing views and the kindest hosts you can wish for. We could choose from wide selection of delicious breakfast all sourced locally. Our room and bathroom was wheelchair accessible without loosing the charm and cosiness which is all around the house. Very good parking space with direct access to the room.

United Kingdomjust small irritant in that the TV aerial reception was poor though fault of Nigel and Sharon due to its remote location. However the compensating factor is TV streaming service which was good
a truly charming hotel run by charming couple Nigel and Sharon who made us feel comfortable and well fed. They couldn’t have done better.

United KingdomMy short stay at Pendragon Country House couldn't have been more pleasant. Nigel and Sharon Reed are welcoming, thoughtful and enthusiastic hosts. They clearly have a love for what they do in every way; from the facilities they provide for their guests, their support for everything Cornish, and the historical context of their lovely Victorian property - and I must not omit mentioning the first class dining, an experience I strongly urge guests not to miss. I look forward very much to another visit. Roger Greenwell. Bristol

The house/room and facilities are wonderful, the hosts were extremely welcoming and did everything to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The breakfast choice was excellent and the cooking was exemplary. From a warm welcome to help and tips on where to go and eat whilst out and about it was a wonderful experience from start to finish.

United KingdomI liked everything about the property. One thing I didn’t realised that the bus service is Cornwall has really gone down and has become erratic since my last visit in 2020. The property is few minutes drive from Camelford and a lovely 1 hr 15 minutes walk via the country roads on a sunny day. Public transport almost non existent. But on the positive side, the owners were very helpful and gave me rides on their own car. Something that saved a lot of time for me 😊
Very clean and comfortable place to stay. Hosts were absolutely amazing. Both Nigel and his wife were very friendly, looked after me like a friend and were very helpful. Loved my stay. the Victorian property is also amazing. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choices

United KingdomSharon and Nigel are very welcoming and pleasant hosts. We were met on arrival by Sharon and nothing was too much trouble. The room we had was great (Tristram), very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed a very nice meal prepared by Nigel on the 2nd night and then went into the garden for coffee afterwards. My wife suffers from food allergies which were catered for which we appreciated. If you want to eat out I would go to Boscastle were you'll find a couple of good restaurant.
