Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomUnfortunately, the bed was uncomfortable and creaked a lot. The coffee machine was broken and the shower wasn't secure. However, the decor was lovely.
Right in the middle of the town centre.

United KingdomNarrow staircase up to level 2 room which normally wouldn't be an issue but I did have two large bags so this was a little unexpected challenge.
The accommodation was as described and the photos were a true representation of the actual state of the rooms. Very clean, modern and with everything you'd need (coffee maker, glasses, bowls, hairdryer, toiletries etc.)

United KingdomThe room is advertised as a suite, but I'd have to disagree. It's a lovely room with a separate huge bathroom with freestanding rolltop bath and walk in shower, but I don't see how this makes it a suite. No lounge area or even a dressing table. Could do with a full length mirror in the room and some hooks in the bathroom.
The room was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful

United KingdomA lot of things just needed some maintenance. We had a running tap that squealed if you didn’t regularly adjust it. Windows difficult to open and close. Broken slats on window covers. No sockets where you needed them. No chair by the mirror so had to stand to dry hair and put make up on. Broken bathroom light above mirror. Lights were very dim and low hanging. Me and my husband hit our heads on the bathroom doorway and the lights several times. The bath looked amazing but nowhere to put toiletries other than leaning over to the floor. Which was slippy. Could do with a bath tray. The shower again looked amazing but not very practical again. Hard to adjust the settings to get it right. Nowhere to hang towels for when getting out. Steep steps to get to our room. The bed was very creaky. We both had to try not to move around much.
The location was perfect. Everything you needed was close by. The castle views. The staff in the cafe and the breakfasts on each day were good. The re-stock of towels and toiletries if needed was great.

United KingdomThe stairs were very worn, rickety, steep and missing a banister. The shower had a glass shelf with very rusty fittings and the corners of the floor around the shower cubicle had trapped dirt. The property doesn’t have its own parking and if you arrived before the shops closed, you would have to park quite some distance away. Their own coffeeshop doesn’t open until 10am and neither did any of other similar places in the area.
right in the historic centre of Conwy and about 1 hr from the Holyhead ferry terminal .

United KingdomPen Y Bryn is on the top floor of a three storey town house - we did not know this when we booked. All the taps in the bathroom need tightened and a few washers in the plumbing need replaced. Being in the centre of town, parking is not available on the doorstep - but there is plenty just a short walk away. No more than 2-5 mins walking
Pen Y Bryn is right in the middle of everything in Town. The ladies who manage the room and the 'Love to Eat' Cafe downstairs are truly lovely. Nothing is too much bother and they were wonderful throughout our stay. The room was comfortable and the bathroom quite splendid looking. A lovely walk through shower and seperate bath...luxurious.

United KingdomGreat location. Very clean. The only problem was the noisy seagulls keeping us awake all night! That's obviously not the fault of the owners but the room was too warm to not open the window. Wifi didn't work on our phones or the TV but apart from that everything was great. Thank you for a lovely stay

United KingdomShower was unpredictable mainly due to Very hot water. Cold tap in sink won’t turn off and is constantly running. Very dirty windows on the outside which spoilt the lovely view. Obviously very recently painted so a strong smell for the first 24 hours but it improved by the second day. Has a clock but doesn’t work and no mirror other than a A5 size one above sink. Not best for tall people due to low door ways.
Great location, clean and comfortable. Great to have a mini fridge and coffee maker. Nice little extras with sweets and orange juice.
