A great location in a cosy, quirky cottage but parking was a nightmare.

Walking up a steep one-way road nearly a quarter of a mile to park (not ‘just up the lane’ as described in the blurb) and driving a two mile round trip back to the house to pick up a heavy picnic bag, as it was all a one way system. The fridge froze our salad and milk. I never managed to turn it to normal fridge temperature. The single bed used was a single mattress on a narrower camp bed which meant it overhung and the bottom sheet kept coming untucked. I couldn’t find the dehumidifier (noted in the house folder), which I was asked to use and empty. We’re told to put rubbish in the black bin in the back garden but there wasn’t one, so I left the black bag there. I noticed a rubbish lorry passed on Thursday. if you add that to the folder, guests could put the bags out and avoid build up. Just a suggestion. Be warned that there is a big step down immediately outside both bedroom doors and the stairs are very steep. One riser was 15”. I have a replacement hip and arthritis and my nephew has mild cerebral palsy. The blurb says it’s not suitable for disabled., but I’d already booked when I read that so we had to manage, and both crawled upstairs on hands and feet(!) but found the lack of nearby parking frustrating. However, these were minor details. We left the cottage very clean as we found it. It’s quaint and quirky and we loved it and had a great holiday. Thank you. Nicola.

The views, cleanliness, well equipped kitchen, spacious bathroom and comfy double bed.

the amount of communication from the property owners ahead of the the stay was a little overwhelming. They required a sort of virtual check in & sending selfies etc for verification which I've never seen done before. There was also a lot of separate texts & emails with different pieces of information which could have been streamlined. probably best to stick to one mode of comms that being either text or phone, also check out was very early, would prefer either 11am or 12pm, we emailed asking for a later check out time but we didn't get a reply

The house is absolutely beautiful, so so charming. It felt so peaceful & relaxing - definitely somewhere you can cosy up and get lost for a few days. I don't have anything bad to say about the house, I would absolutely stay there again!

Located up a hill and the stairs were quite dangerous for older people
