Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe decor in the bedroom. I don’t like rooms decorated in grey. I find it too dark and gloomy.
Breakfast and dinner excellent. Freshly cooked and imaginative choices. Great central location with garden and facing a park.

United KingdomI would have preferred a room on the ground floor, as I hadn't realised there was no lift. My partner struggled a bit with the stairs. My fault though - I should have stated this as a preference when booking!
Very comfortable room with spacious bathroom. Staff were particularly friendly and helpful e.g ordering us a taxi for going out in the evening.

Lovely and clean, very comfortable room, with amazing shower. The restaurant serves very classy food, with lovely gardens to sit in, which joins onto a huge green space. Easy walking distance to bus station and trains.

SwitzerlandHard to open a window in the room, it got pretty warm. Shame that there were only 2 guests for dinner, the food was excellent. Everything a little old fashioned… but not without charm.
Great location right at the train station and at the park, room clean and spacious, bathroom new and spotlessly clean. Very friendly service and excellent food (both breakfast and dinner). The seating in the garden is pretty.

CanadaWe were thankfully, on the second floor as the floor in our room was extremely creaky. We attempted to try to not make too much noise for our neighbours underneath us. When we came to the dining room for our breakfast, we were looking at the tables to choose one to sit at, and the gentleman who was working said to us when we were looking at a table that wasn’t set for breakfast, that that was not one of the table set for breakfast and said “The wine glasses on it was the first clue.” We thought that was extremely rude and didn’t fit with the vibe (and price) of the hotel or the other staff who were very polite and accommodating. Our breakfast was okay.
The hotel is very convenient to the rail station… A 10 minute walk. The garden in the back was beautiful… During our visit, most of the flowers were in bloom.

United KingdomThere was a bit of noise from the room next door as the sound proofing between the rooms wasn't perfect. Not the worst I've experienced though. I wish the curtains had been thicker. The sun rose at about 4am and the curtains didn't black it out.
The location is perfect - right next to the park. The beer garden is beautiful and you can sit and look out over the park. You wouldn't think you were in the centre of Perth. The staff are friendly, approachable and very helpful. The room was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Staying here is so much better than a modern chain hotel. It is full of character and the people really care if you have a good visit.

Parklands is a lovely hotel right in the middle of Perth. Over looking the park it is a great location for exploring. The food is amazing, we had dinner bed and breakfast and it was fab. Staff are so so friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

United KingdomNothing 'wrong' anywhere, but i wasn't quite what i envisaged when booking.
Yes, i did request a quiet room, but found myself over looking the car park and the ajaciet road, although disturbence was minimal. The room was smaller than expected, but the large bathroom had a large, mulitperson, if needed, shower, which was most enjoyable. The peacefull retaurant gave a good aspect over the park(lands), which in it self was comfortable. The quayity of the food was surprisingly good, which given that i was entianing a friend to dinner, was a relief!. Brealfast was also good.

United KingdomThe room was a little chilly when we arrived, though that improved later. The host who met us was very welcoming, though we were slightly bombarded with information on arrival - especially in connection with how to order breakfast.
The hotel is very near the train station so very convenient for us, having travelled to Perth by train. The room was large enough to accommodate three adults easily. Breakfast wasn't included but there was plenty of choice and it was very good.
