A great base for exploring Oxford and Blenheim

    Nothing

The breakfast was splendid The garden was attractive. The hotel is set in a pleasant neighbourhood and was quiet at night. There is a regular bus service No.2 serving between Magdalen Street and the hotel though the 25 minutes walk into Oxford is pleasant enough.

Windows were unable to provide enough fresh air especially in the unseasonably warm time of our stay.

The property was clean, staff professional and attentive. Breakfast was well done and fresh. Garden was a delightful surprise.

Nothing outstanding to dislike. The hotel was basic. The carpets set off my allergies but can't say they were unclean.

Location was good. We didn't walk but there were plenty of buses nearby. Breakfast was a buffet but good choice. Restaurant staff lovely. We found hotels expensive around Oxford so this hotel was good value. Our room was spacious enough and had 2 queen size beds. The bed was clean and comfortable.

Location in North Oxford is quiet and pleasant but a long walk to town. Parking can be competitive.

The ‘executive’ rooms are fine for 3 star, comfortable and reasonably spacious. Buffet breakfast is pretty good and staff are friendly. Good value for Oxford.

Mainly the beds : they were not comfy, quite hard, did not sleep well. And the mattress of the sofa bed was very thin and only good for a small child I would say. The parking is quite expensive and not well explained. Apart from that, we enjoyed our stay.

The location was very convenient to get in the center. Quiet neighbouhood. The hotel was well decorated and welcoming. Rooms were large enough. The breakfast was very nice with lots of choice. The staff was welcoming. The garden is beautiful and would be nice to enjoy on sunny days.

Getting tired, it is converted housing, on odd levels, creaky floorboards, confusing staircases, and the volume of guests places a strain on service quality.

Very convenient, good local transport, quiet, excellent breakfast.

Our window was under the roof, and pigeons had nests in the beams under the roof. Therefore, there was a lot of cooing and flapping. I notified the reception about that and suggested taking action to remove the pigeons.

Amazing area, set in a gorgeous residential area of Oxford. Spacious room. Very comfortable facilities. Excellent breakfast with a large selection of food.

    Great stay in Summertown Oxford!

I was originally assigned a room where WIFI did not connect, and as I arrived late in the evening I was without this (needed) service for that night and the next morning ( as I was too exhausted to address this). Also the desk lamp did not work. However I was reassigned a superior room the next day. (Unfortunately the lamp here, also, did not work, which was annoying).

Staff were most hospitable. Josh on front desk was welcoming, warm and obliging, which was appreciated after a difficult journey. All the staff in the hotel were most polite and helpful. Breakfast was very good with a range of food to suit all tastes. Staff attending the breakfast room are efficient and friendly. Room servicing was seamless and good too. The rooms are very large! The surrounding area is safe and lovely suburb. Good public transport nearby if you need this.

Location was great we were able to walk to everywhere we wanted to go. We were happy to pay for parking as it can be difficult in Oxford. The hotel was lovely, staff was friendly and the bed was so comfy we would go back.

A comfortable and convenient stay in a nice part of Oxford.
    • Leisure trip
    • Solo traveler
    • Standard Double Room
    • Stayed 2 nights

On one of the mornings the shower was not very warm. The lift was not working properly throughout my two night stay. The staff said that they had informed the management but they obviously couldn't do anything about it. However, they were more than willing to help me when I needed help with carrying my luggage. I was in a standard double room, which was fine for me on my own, but in my opinion would have been quite difficult for two people, as there was very little room in between any of the furniture.

The reception staff were extremely nice and helpful and so were the staff at breakfast. The bed was comfortable. The kettle, tea bags and biscuits in the room were all good.

The view from the 'executive room' was the wall of an adjacent building. You shouldn't offer this room at the same rate as other rooms in the same category.

The place was spotless, the room was quiet, a good size and the mattresses were very comfortable. Excellent full English breakfast buffet.

I liked that the hotel is at the premise of old mansion or estate that is very historical considering it's Oxford. The breakfast was exceptionally good, all expectations were met. 2km walk from Oxford high street and bus station. Located on the street with all the beautiful faculties of Oxford and other universities.
