Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

Hong KongEven though there is a lift, you still may have to take some stairs to your room. The a/c in one of the rooms would not adjust, so it was very warm.
Amazing location, only a few minutes walk from Earls Gate station (which is on 3 underground lines), and close to a pub, coffee shops and fast food. The breakfast buffet was great and the staff was nice. The rooms were comfortable and clean with good amenities, but very small (not much room to move, and space only to open 1 medium suite case).

United StatesI’m not a fan of basement rooms. I wish the description of this was more apparent when booking the hotel room. Having said that, I do have to say that the small space in the hotel room was utilized relatively well. The coffee was a bit too strong and not always fresh at breakfast (please note that we live in Europe and are adapted to drinking strong coffee).
Location was optimal. Centrally located. The hotel is just a block away from several cafes, restaurants, and a grocery store. Very close to the Underground (Earl’s Court) with a 5 minute walk. The bathroom was recently remodeled with a roomy shower. The breakfast buffet was decent.

Israel* They insist on charging you pre-authorization of 100 GBP before getting the room (and insist on credit card and do not accept cash), with the condition that when you check-out they will see that the room is fine and then you will get a refund. when i checked-out it was early in the morning so no one was there to clear the room and give me a refund receipt, so i had to film a video of all of the room to protect myself from accusations when i wont be there to protect myself. they did made a refund on the evening of that day, but still, not a pleasant experience. * The room must be serviced and cleaned everyday. even if you go out the room and leave the "do not disturbed" sign, they will still come into the room when you are not there and clean it. its the first time im hearing about such a thing. * There is some movement sensors in the room that probably meant to turn off lights and A/C when you are not in the room, but the problem is that if you lay still in the bad, the sensors thinks no one in the room, so suddenly the lights and a/c will turn-off on you while you are in the room. * In general, the controls are a bit weird, for instance when you dim the lights in the room (you have one control that control all the lights in the room), it also dims it in the toilet, although the toilet have a separate control unit.

Friendly staff who couldn’t have been more pleasant and would have done anything to help. Modern room, clean and turned over every day. Tea/coffee facilities in the room. Fridge and safe available. We asked for an ironing board and iron to which staff were very accommodating. Good location - 5 minute (if that) walk from Earls Court underground with good links to other stations. Quiet street - not much outdoor/street noise. Room wasn’t as small as expected having read other reviews. Luggage hold available. Good value for money.

United KingdomWe stayed in the Oxford hotel but the reception was for 3 different hotels so had a different name on the door and when they answered the phone which was a bit disconcerting. The Oxford hotel had 2 parts and the rooms took a bit of finding but they had warned you of this in the information.
The bedrooms were comfortable, clean and well equipped. Obviously newly modernised and very nice. The lifts was good.
