The shower was a bit faffy … kept going really hot or really cold. The tele single was poor

The swimming pool was out of action, but we knew this before we went and the room price was accordingly very low.

We were given a room upgrade, and the room was excellent. We had dinner in the restaurant, which was very nice and the staff were very friendly. The meal portions were large, so no room for dessert. We did not have breakfast, because my wife does not eat until lunchtime.

There was no view from our room - Chalmont? No mirror in the room No toilet brush No beside cabinet for books/ drinks/ telephones. Baisn over flow was dirty

Exceptional value for money. I understand the property is in the process of being renovated and our room had good quality appliances including an iron and iron board which is excellent. The room was very nicely decorated

Staff we're all in all great, however on arrival i struggled through a heavy glass door with luggage and my Husband with a stick while the member of staff just stood and watched while they waited for us. Maybe a little more attention to wiping the lounge tables down once cleared. Other than that it was top notch.

The building is beautiful and in keeping with it's period. Staff were very pleasant and polite. Food was scrumptious. Bedrooms were huge and lovely bathroom with everything you need. All areas were clean but glass on doors and windows could to be monitored a little more

Lack of hot water for a bath, mould in bathroom. Portion of food was disappointedly on the small side despite being nice. Concrete boulder structures were barriers around the carpark which sort of looked like 2nd world ward barricades and quite unfitting for such a beautiful house. Chap walked past the front window topless with his staffy - can’t remember the last time I saw a chap do this !

Location, staff and dog friendly & Chef came out and happy to help with sourdough request.

Checking process and dozens of messages unnecessary. Loud wedding with a thumping sound system all through the night. Cold breakfast and no veggi options.

Most hotels are usually 12 noon check out but only by reading the card on the desk did I discover that it is 11 and if we waited until 12 a £30 charge applied, should have been mentioned at checkin

Quiet old style luxery, in a massive room with an equally large bathroim and walk in shower. The location ar the top of a winding drive in a countrt setting was oerfect and views overlioking the gold course supberd

The meal choices were mainly spicey or had ingredients I could not eat. The choice I made, the meal was heavy and did not agree with me and I was ill during the night.

the fish and chips I had to complain about they over fried the fish, no fish left. They deducted the meal from my bill.

The room was great, with a comfy bed that made for a good night's sleep. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. Even though I missed dinner by 10 minutes, the chef was cool about it and whipped up whatever I wanted.

I was first given a dark and depressing room with poor outlook and repair. After complaining, I was moved to a much more pleasant, light and comfortable room, recently upgraded and decorated.

Location peaceful and very attractive. Staff friendly and helpful. Cleanliness excellent. Food excellent.

Beautiful location but hopeless for taking a stroll anywhere. Unable to walk on the golf course and no interesting paths around it.

Dinner was very good. Service delightful but a little chaotic. Very quiet room but woken early by thoughtless other guests talking loudly outside our room.

Lovely setting In Countryside and only 10 minutes from the A1. Plenty of parking and the room was very comfortable,quality bedding and luxury.
