Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere is nothing to dislike!
We had a wonderful stay at number 19. Our host was really friendly and accommodating…we were made to feel very comfortable from the moment we arrived. The house is beautifully furnished, immaculately clean and the beds are super comfortable. The property is about a 10 minute walk from the centre of Chichester where there are numerous restaurants to choose from. We particularly enjoyed our breakfast at the property. I would not hesitate to stay at number 19 again.

United KingdomWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Julia's home. It was peaceful, stylish and comfortable and the location is perfect and easily walkable to the city centre and the railway station. We have never had such a fantastic breakfast and Julia was a very responsive host - both before and during our stay. Thank you Julia and we highly recommend staying here.

Utterly perfect. Fabulous owner who goes more than the extra mile for her guests! Spotlessly clean; wonderfully designed and presented. Dedicated parking spot at rear of property. Remarkable breakfasts. Cosy but airy. Secure and peaceful away from chaotic city traffic. Superb bath/shower room. Outdoor seating available. Once parked up, the car can be forgotten as it is an easy 10 minute walk to the cathedral or to the theatre. Five minute stroll to start of town centre shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants etc. Unbelievably convenient! (Excellent "Bell Inn" just around the corner.) We only hope that Julie has a vacancy the next time we need to be in Chichester !

United KingdomSpotlessly clean, friendly host, absolutely delicious home made breakfast. Just one night here but I'd stay again.. the bedroom was very cosy and nicely decorated with a comfortable bed. It is just 5 mins walk from the b&b to the cathedral and centre of town. Nice and quiet and there is space to park by the house. Couldn't have asked for more!

United KingdomThere was nothing we didnt like, it was all very nice and very friendly.
When we arrived Julia gave us a warm welcome and made us a cup of tea to take up to our room . This was a nice touch as we had a long journey from Devon. The bed was comfortable and very big and it was all lovely and clean.

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing! Our room was spotless and had every possible convenience including a daily bottle of water, as well as teas, including herbal, hot chocolate and coffee. There was even a tempting bottle of bonbons! Julia was always smiling and friendly and would do anything to ensure a smooth day ahead. She suggested places to visit, restaurants for evening meals, and would research theatre and art gallery programmes and exhibitions. Nothing was too much trouble.
The breakfasts were absolutely superb. Different each morning, wonderfully healthy and freshly cooked. Julia catered for all tastes but my friend and I throughly enjoyed each gourmet experience. I even took notes! Julia went over and above to ensure our stay was perfect. My friend's mobility was poor so Julia accompanied me on early morning walks before breakfast. We walked well away from traffic into the countryside and she even took me further afield by car, to start the walk in a completely different area. Julia picked us up from the station and returned us. She drove us to Bosham, collected us from restaurants and couldn't have done more in her role as concierge. We were hugely appreciative of her willingness to help us.

United KingdomNothing. All expectations were exceeded.
We loved everything about this location, the best we have stayed in by a long way, here or abroad. Julia, the host, was friendly and welcoming, and her breakfasts were amazing. The house was tastefully decorated and the room was spacious with very comfortable beds and ample storage space. In the en suite bathroom every detail was carefully planned, including, our criterion! -a hook on the door and shelves for toilet bags. Parking was easily accessible. Altogether a very pleasant stay- strongly recommended.

The property is kept to a very high standard, with a very comfortable bed and top quality fixtures and fittings. Excellent breakfast, with orange juice, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, freshly cooked full English, toast, marmalade, jams and coffee. Location is very convenient indeed both for the theatre and the centre of Chichester. There is off street parking and Julia very kindly offered for us to leave the car on the day of our departure so that we could explore the city. We were offered a drink on arrival and Julia was very friendly.

United KingdomHonestly, there is nothing that we didn't like. Everything was absolutely perfect.
Finding a twin room in Chichester is challenging so we chose Number 19 mainly for the reason that twin beds could be provided albeit free parking was also a bonus. Number 19 exceeded all of our expectations. The house/room is gorgeous and Julia is the most friendly and generous host. Everything is top quality from breakfast ingredients to toiletries to linen. The location is perfect for a couple of days in Chichester, central but peaceful. Cannot recommend highly enough and will definitely stay again next time we are in Chichester. Thanks so much, Julia.
