Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomCabins were supposed to be luxury but sited backing onto the main road between Fort William and Glencoe. There was a lot of traffic noise which spoilt the tranquillity of the view across the loch. The additional charge of £20 is excessive when travelling with a dog.
Amazing view across the loch from our pod.

United KingdomI’m afraid the rooms are very tired and definitely need modernising. The bed although very clean was not particularly comfy.
The property is in a good location and close to Glencoe - it’s easy to get to and there is plenty of parking. The food is excellent and well worth buying the breakfast as well as your evening meal.

AustriaMy single room on both occasions was tiny . Room 6 The en-suite was almost unusable . You couldn’t sit on loo properly on one as pushed so tight into a corner. The shower cubicle was so tight the doors didn’t open fully . Felt very claustrophobic.
The view is outstanding The restaurant is very good . On the whole the main rooms are decorated to quite a high standard Room 6 . My lakeside view although had to kneel on bed to see it as couldn’t get to window .

SwitzerlandWe were quite disappointed with the rooms when we arrived, the carpets looked very old and the room didn't resemble the modern fresh look from the advertising pictrues. At the edges the carpets were torn, the walls may need paint or new wallpaper. All of us like dogs, and pet-friendly is great. But in combination with carpets in rooms and also the dog in the breakfast room, next to the food buffet just left us with a bad feeling. Service dogs are well behaved but the dog here at breakfast was very excited with the buffet.
The whole staff was really friendly, at check-in, at the bar and also during breakfast and check-out. The view from the room was great, just as advertised. The shower had good pressure and temperature control. Breatfast was also pretty good, there was a wide selection of typical breakfast items, scottish breakfast and continental.

HungaryPaper thin walls, you can hear every little noise from the next room, some parts of the hotel look like they haven’t been renovated in the century. The plastic cups in the bathroom made me cry, they would make even the best 5 star hotel look cheap :(

United KingdomNothing really.
I had two nights in the hotel. Beautiful Location and the weather was kind to us. I didn't eat at the hotel other than a breakfast which was buffet style and plenty of choice. The hotel looks a little dated but is nice enough inside and has a lovely decking area off the lounge/restaurant. My single room was fine and bathroom looked like it had be recently upgraded. All in all enjoyed my sta.

United KingdomThe restaurant was a bit slow and we had over an hour weight for food (but it was nice when it arrived) The Prosecco was expensive. The property was a bit dated and could do with some TLC.
The locations was great, being lochside made for a beautiful stay. The food and restaurant was nice. The staff were friendly and helpful.

United KingdomOur room was small and very tired. Over priced for the room we were allocated. Bottom of window double glazing blown. Shower did not drain well and was smelly. Bathroom sink did not drain well. Toilet looked like it was leaking at the back. Room was not refreshed during our stay. The tables in the restaurant were too close together and all facing the same direction. No privacy in conversations and you constantly looked at someone looking at you. Website says bar open from 3pm, still closed at 5pm, no option to get a soft drink even.
Staff were really helpful and friendly. Food in the restaurant was very good (but a bit expensive) Breakfast was very good which was included in the price. Within easy reach of Ben Nevis. Lovely views from the hotel of Loch. Provided packed breakfast for early start.

AustraliaWhen you walk in the door you should be greeted with a smile, if they are busy, they should acknowledge you and say I won't be long. You shouldn't have to drag all you bags in and then present yourself and announce who you are. The senior management then said there is no lift you are on the first floor. So more bag dragging without any offer to help. Our toilet seat was broken. Someone with long black hair must have cleaned the room. there were heaps in the bathroom. neither of us have long black hair. Also, there were no teaspoons to make our tea or coffee. It's the little things that make you come back. Attention to detail goes a long way. We didn't complain because we had a really nice view and didn't want to be moved to another room. We did mention it the next day so I hope they fixed it for the next guests.
Breakfast was great with a lovely outlook. The main meal was really nice, we were attended to by lovely staff. The location was beautiful, and the view was very pretty. There was one staff member in particular who was very helpful in the evening at dinner, in the morning at breakfast he also checked us out and was just a pleasure to deal with. I think his name was Kumah. It is a shame he didn't check us in too.
