Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomIt was all great.
The lcoation was exceptional. We were at the top end of a field by a restricted byway, so a few dog walkers came along, that's all. Easy walk to the village for the shop. Close to events that we were planning to do. Very comfortable and really well thought out. Enjoyed meeting the horse and the poultry. Quiet and such an amazing view of the stars on a clear night.

United KingdomPoor WiFi but that's quite nice at times, just made checking in with family difficult (don't want our adult children killing the teenager - even if they deserve it). Final directions need a little finesse as the lane at the back is quite tight (may be easier through farm). Personally I am not keen on the chickens, but my wife loved them...ended up renamed as Kiev, Paxo etc
Loved loved loved it, what a fantastic little get-away for 2, full of character and quirkiness. Sufficiently far away from everything, but not so far that it was isolated, with pub/restraunt and shop close by. Most certainly, I will be booking again. Highly appreciated, I would thoughly recommend.

United KingdomSuch a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. We made friends with the local chickens and had fun playing Scrabble! The train carriage is so cosy and it's lovely to wake up with the sun in the morning. Adele was friendly and showed us how things worked when we got there. Thank you so much for everything :)

United KingdomThere was a little more road noise than I expected.
Owner welcomed us on arrival and explained lights, water, bathroom facilities etc. Converted rustic train carriage was located at the top of a field and so felt very private.

United KingdomThe lighting could be improved there was one mains light and the rest were solar powered and were a bit dim. There could’ve been more lights that worked outside to help get to the bathroom in the dark. The fridge is on its last legs and could do with being replaced as the seal was not working and leaked water.
We loved the unique character of the train carriage with a large comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen and lovely log burner. The hosts Adele and Ian were lovely and very welcoming the homemade Victoria Sponge was excellent.

Very comfortable well equipped carriage. Bed was amazing and had everything you need for a comfortable stay. Log fire took some mastering but that is just me a useless pyromaniac. Loved the morning visit by the local chickens. Save some bread for them. Shower/toilet facilities excellent.

United KingdomI would have liked a lock on the inside of the bathroom door.
The cabin was even nicer than I expected it to be. It was very comfortable and clean. I was lucky to have good weather when I stayed so I was able to have all the doors open. The separate bathroom was lovely and the shower was hot and powerful. It had everything you could want for a short break away. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend off the rails.

United KingdomWet weather, hosts could not control!
Self-catering, railway carriage was on a plot away from other habitation so complete privacy. Hens came to the plot each morning giving it a rustic environment. The old carriage was quaint but comfortable. If the weather had been better, one could have eaten outdoors.
