We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Robyn and Chris, our hosts, who were friendly and obliging. We could not have been better treated ! We were made to feel comfortable and at home, the house has a lovely feel, clean and comfortable, warm and inviting, a real gem of a find. An exceptional breakfast to boot. At the risk of making it ore difficult for me to book again I whole heartedly recommend staying here !

The room was lovely. Very clean and comfortable. There were plenty of wardrobe/drawer space and lots of sockets. The hosts were very friendly and couldn't do enough. They were a great help for places to go and recommendations for where to eat. They have a great choice for breakfast, and we tried most of them. Each one delicious. We especially enjoyed their smoked salmon (which they source from Scotland) and scrambled eggs - the best we've tasted.

My grandmother, mother and I stayed at Oakfold for three days. We could not fault the property. Every little detail was beautifully thought out. Great location. Breakfast was fantastic with lots of choice, using local produce and delicious homemade bread. Our room was quaint, extremely clean, well stocked with local teas and coffees and beautifully decorated. It felt like a home from home. All handwash and shampoo were also from a local brand whose shop we visited in Ambleside. There were so many beautiful little touches such as homemade fudge next to the entrance. I would highly reccomend Oakfold house. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay.

2nd stay here and would return again. Lovely b&b in perfect location...few minutes walk to shops/restaurants and the lake in Bowness-on-Windemere. Good size comfortable room, great breakfasts and friendly hosts.

Oakfold House exceeded all our expectations and made our Lake District vacation unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the warm and friendly staff made us feel right at home. Me & my son had a family room on the top floor. There was a single & double bed & plenty of room. In room fridge is good as well as the tea/coffee facilities. Love the bathroom products from a Lake District firm. Breakfast was excellent, 1 morning we both had Scrambled egg, salmon & toast. (as well as buffet items). On the second morning I had cumbrian breakfast that was well cooked & not at all greasy. My son enjoyed the kippers & poached egg. Location is brilliant for walking into Bowness.
