Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBeautiful location, super friendly host, excellent kitchen utensils. It was a bit windy for a bbq so the George Foreman grill was super helpful. Lots of towels for shower and hot tub. Definitely would recommend this lodge.

United KingdomNothing . Would just have liked to stay longer !
The most wonderful of locations , a very comfortable and well furnished cabin with views over sheep fields, the coast and distant islands . Idyllic to sit in the hot tub looking out to sea. Catherine was incredibly helpful, offering help to warm up the hot tub, free fresh eggs , detergent for washing and even offering to post back a cable we had left behind . Highly recommended .

The location was beautiful and the views were amazing even on a rainy day, on a nice day it’s the perfect place to watch the sunset soaking in the hot tub. Catherine the host was incredible and so helpful and made sure the hot tub was up and running for us because we are clueless when it comes to wood burning stoves! The lodge was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our short stay. Can’t wait to return for another stay!

United KingdomThere was nothing wrong with the accommodation the only thing I could say is can get very muddy round the hot tub if it was slabbed round the hot tub you wouldn’t be getting mud everywhere
It was quiet, secluded and the views of Islay, Jura, Gigha and on a clear day you can sea Northern Ireland was stunning. The cabin was well equipment with everything you need and having the hot tub was great. Plenty of towels and dressing gowns to jump into the hot tub was a bonus. Catherine the host couldn’t have done more for us just lighting the hot tub for us arriving and lighting it again for us when we went out for the day. Very accommodating and being dog friendly was great will. Definitely book again.

United KingdomWe came over a very stormy weekend so it was windy at the place but no complaints on the place itself. I would recommend having a broom and dust pan to clean up after the dogs if possible.
Loved how cozy the place was and how accommodating Catherine was. Our dogs had a great time in the field outside, lots of room and beautiful views.

United KingdomIt was a great little chalet in an amazing part of the world, it was clean, looked after and a great size garden for our dogs. The hosts were so lovely and really helpful! The bed was so comfortable, not like some of the places you go to. Great property, it was a little smaller than I first thought it was going to be but we were there for the whole week and the property had everything we needed and plenty of space for us 2 and 2 dogs. We really had an amazing time!!! We travelled 7 hours and it was absolutely worth it, not disappointed in the slightest! Definitely recommend!!!!

Katherine was so friendly and couldn’t do enough to make sure our stay was enjoyable and ensured all our needs were met. The fresh eggs provided for breakfast were delicious and such a lovely touch. GermanyThat we couldn't stay longer.
Located on top of cliffs with fantastic views to the islands of Islay, Gigha, Jura and the seas off Northern Ireland, the chalet provides tranquil privacy and comfort. Waking up looking from the bed to the seas, with sheep and birds making the only sounds felt a privilege. The interior is thoughtfully arranged and stocked with everything we needed, with the outdoor table and hot tub being an added bonus. Helpful and very friendly host who personally looks after everything. Location is ideal to the endless sand beaches of Westport, popular with surfers, to the dunes and golf of Machrihanish and to Campbeltown.
