Needs improvement with the hotel service. No disposble slippers in the rooms, no bins in the toilet.

Great value for money, location, food and staff

We thought the cooked breakfast could have been better for £15. Scrambled eggs we thought we overdone and I would have liked more coffee.

We had a balcony room which had two single beds that had been attached together, this wasn’t very comfortable. The bottom of the divan was stained, the pillows were flat and had no pillow protectors, the bathroom was a tired, but overall the room was generally clean with fresh linen. It was a little inconvenient that there is no plug sockets near the bed to charge appliances.

Staff are friendly and very helpful. The hotel is well situated for a short walk in to the town. The Bar and restaurant were clean, modern and good value for money. It was very convenient to be able to park onsite not far from our balcony room. The room was quiet and peaceful.

The continental breakfast is not what it once was. I miss the eggs benedict etc. And would it take much to put some fruit yoghurts out along with the plain ones? Same price to buy. The breads were nice and fresh though and I enjoyed my ham and cheese bagel and earl grey tea😁

We always prefer the annexe rooms because of the balcony and pool view. And as an added bonus they're the cheapest. Yes they're not as immaculate as the house rooms but still nice and clean and spacious. The beds are always super comfy and I always get a good night sleep. Bar is pretty reasonably priced. £12 for a pint and a gin and flavoured tonic. Our favourite hotel in Matlock😃

The bedding needed fresh pillows and duvets.

The room was ok. The bathroom was in need of some repair and the grouting between the tiles needed attention. The staff are lovely but the hotel is looking tired.

Bed was very small for a superior double,and it was only a continental breakfast, but didn't actually say that just said breakfast included, and there wasn't much choice.. so basically 2 toast each and 2 teas £20

The only negative was the mattress which was unfortunately quite uncomfortable, we would have mentioned it when checking out but reception was very busy. A cooked breakfast option would have been nice but the continental one avaliable still very good. All in all not bad for the price.

2 single beds pushed together were uncomfortable and heating kept clicking. Also family in room close by were noisy and kids kept knocking my door and running up and down corridor.

We booked the supervisor room but the pictures in the booking did not match the actual room. I was disappointed. I paid for the room because I felt it will be nice to wake up in a beautiful room like that. But that was not the case. The stairs were a hassle with suitcases. The prices are too high for a country hotel.

The location is awesome. The building is beautiful.

The staff didn't provide any information about our stay at check-in such as the WiFi password or breakfast times (so we missed breakfast)! Few water stains on the ceiling and walls near the windows in the bedroom suggestive of leaks.
