Was a little disappointed that the bar is only open for special occasions.

Immaculate, modern rooms, fabulous heating, Christina was very professional, phoned the day before we arrived to make sure we were happy with everything and said she would meet us on arrival, very good personal service. We would definitely recommend Lews castle to anyone thinking of booking.

It is a castle so has some stairs but there is a lift, and needed the exercise to work off the super breakfasts!

The welcome that we received from the Manageress of the property was exceptional. It set the tone for a very comfortable stay. The rooms were brilliant, roomy and luxurious.

A couple of small issues dealt with very quickly and discreetly.

Magnificent apartment in iconic castle. Very comfortable and well appointed. A bonus that the event we attended was hosted at the castle too, so very convenient.

Although room was spacious it was rather empty and stark. Don't think it would feel cosy on a winter's night. Missing hooks and places to put toiletries etc in the bathroom.

Lovely building, quiet location. Staff very helpful and excellent communication. Room was very spacious. Ate breakfast in the cafe and the bacon rolls were super. Gave direct feedback to the manager on my observations and they were acknowledged and welcomed.

On arrival we were met by the very friendly and helpful General Manager. After a long day travelling, during which we did no know if we would arrive, Christina welcomed us, showed us around, explained policies etc, let us know about local restaurants and said we could call her if we had any issues. The Castle was fantastic. A really amazing place to stay. Also, it was only about 25mins from Calanais Stones.

The rooms were very quiet and there was lift access which makes it easy for handling luggage. We had an apartment which was very spacious, well equipped and the bed was huge and comfortable. Our view towards the port and the town was lovely. Parking was right beside the castle entrance and was free and felt quite safe. It was a quick walk (ten minutes) to restaurants and shops.

Some of the facilities didn’t work properly. Tub didn’t drain properly, and heating didn’t work well. Mostly clean, but not spotless as I found a few tiny bugs.

We was in a top room called sunlight, 3 little slats for windows, you could only see part of the below roof, skylight above the bed, so it was too bright early morning. Bed in the middle of the room, mirror too high for someone short. Headboard was tiled, roll top bath behind the bed, no chair to sit down,just a confusing layout.

The bed was very comfortable, shower was good.
